Why have the stupid idea to make a useless small crash test barrier that can only be used for one map
The good old cliche of "Guy joining the forums as a no name just to cash in making mediocre paid mods" Great, as we didn't had enough of these guys already. the paid mods trend was a mistake, smh. be like us, make free mods at least.. or perhaps, get well known and achieve dev level of quality. it's really that simple.
The moveable one come in few days, the model, textures and jbeams finished two years ago, but I forgot it.
they look like real crash test barrier, not like crappy nardelli who is older than some kids in my school
It's outdated as hell... It's 10 years old at this point and the last update was in 2021. 4 years where textures, rendering engines, the way cars deform etc. has changed. While I can understand that paying 2 Euros for a crash test card is a bit weird, it's better than other people who do some highpoly shitbox cars and want 5 to 7 Euros for it.
As the mod has been released on Gumroad for 2€, I will show more details some specifics most of the barriers. I will also update the first page with this information. Lets start with mobile barriers. Heavy Side DB (deformable barrier) This barrier was made to simulate side impacts from heavy SUVs/Trucks of the 90s/00s. It is mostly uniform in strength and shape except for the bumper bulge. Usually used at 50km/h - 31mph. It is succeeded by the Heavy New Side DB. Heavy New Side DB This barrier was made as a response to the changing frontal structures of 2010s/20s, which tend to have stiffer structural rails and softer middle/upper sections. Also has a bumper bulge. Usually used at 60km/h - 37mph. It also is heavier. Rear-Side DB This barrier is similar to a midsize car with mostly uniform in strength and shape except for the bumper bulge. Often used in rear impact testing to check for fuel leaks, usually at 80km/h - 50mph Also used for side testing for NCAP usually at 62km/h - 38.5mph. Frontal New DB This barrier was made to simulate frontal impacts, as well as to measure vehicle compatibility to more compatible frontal crumple zones that deform more effectively in real life crashes. It has a uniform shape with 2 sections, frontmost one being less rigid. Usually used at 50 km/h - 31mph or 56km/h - 35mph. Has a RHD variant. Frontal Classic DB This is a rare barrier made by combining a stationary offset DB and a crash cart. May simulate severe frontal crashes against another car of fixed weight, rather than an equivalent of a test vehicle. Usual use speed is 60km/h - 37mph. Has a RHD variant. Now onto the stationary barriers Small Offset This barrier simulates small offset crashes into a street pole/tree type of structure where vehicles miss their main deforming structural rails and impact the cabin harshly. Its has a half circle part combined to a wall. Has a RHD variant. Small Offset 50R This barrier was used in research to develop the Small Offset barrier. Also has a half circle, smaller, part combined to a wall. Has a RHD variant. Small Offset 250R This barrier was also used in research to develop the Small Offset barrier. Its a fully circular pole, also used to test side pole impacts. Has a RHD variant. I may eventually update some aspects of these barriers. I hope this info was useful in explaining what this mod is like.
