I can probably count with my fingers the number of times I've used one in my 22 years on this earth. But I agree, not worth illegalizing. Edit: I should clarify that I do urinate standing up, just in the toilet stall. And I lift the seat as a courtesy.

Re: General discussion chat Sometimes I feel like society is just a series of successive waves of movements that were and/or are necessary outlasting their own usefulness, and then nitpicking and exaggerating to ensure their continued survival. For example, women weren't treated particularly well 2500+ years ago. Society started changing, and eventually, someone, somewhere decided that they weren't garbage. "You mean women aren't property? Absurd!" And over the course of a dozen or so centuries, that changed. Then rights for women came about; "You mean women should actually hold power? Political power? Downright uncanny!" And a century or so later, women suffrage was won. Then social norms changed; "Factory work and now combat service! Surely you don't mean that!" And now women are (pretty much) legally identical to men. And now that personal and legal rights have been won, the ability to hold offices and positions of legal, commercial, and religious power attained, and social norms greatly reversed, there's now no problem for all the pent-up anger from millennia of sexist oppression to fix. So then what do you do? You pick fights. You make problems. I know not every women's rights advocate acts like the last 200 years haven't meant a thing, and I know that there's still sexism, even in countries wherein sexism is illegal. Still, once you build a movement's momentum to lift society where it needs to get, it's a hell of a task trying to tame the beast you created and keep it from attacking society in general.
