Recent Experimental wont work.

    Hi, I just installed the most recent experimental (sunburst race edition added) and every time I start the game it comes up with a gray screen and doesn't load, and that is every time and didn't happen before. it doesn't seem anyone else is having this problem so I wanted to know if I was doing something wrong, thanks.

    1. Backup everything
    2. Delete local game content
    3. Delete BeamNG folder in "My Documents"
    4. Install beamng again. Only switch branches after it is done downloading or before installing. Doing that while it is downloading corrupts files.

    First what is local game content, second what could cause something like this to happen? so I don't do it again.

    We currently have a buggy cache system that saves old things out to the My Documents\beamng.drive\ folder and then uses those instead of the game files. Also, Steam is not very trustworthy apparently when it comes to updating files, so it seems to screw that up. So the only solution right now for getting the new update working properly is a full reinstall :(

    I mean in steam: Right click on the game and select: "Delete Local Content".

    Why this happens: good question :(

    Should I just backup my mods and delete everything then reinstall?

    Ok and also ^ above is it better to do what u said or not take any risks and delete everything?

    No harm in backing up your mods, but delete everything in My Documents\BeamNG.drive\ and reinstall the game before reinstalling any mods. If it all works, then start adding mods back in.

    I deleted everything related to beamng and now it says missing executable on steam and there is no way to reinstall it as far as i can tell...

    Is there a way to uninstall then reinstall it on steam?

    Find your main steam folder on your PC(Program Files (x86)> Steam>SteamAPPS>Common. You will see the main BeamNG folder delete that folder then go into your documents folder and delete the BeamNG folder in there.
    Next you can go into steam click on BeamNG then right click on delete local content this will delete all BeamNG related things so when you reinstall it will be a totally new install.

    Tdev already told you how to uninstall games on steam... Right click the game in library, delete local game content. Never uninstall a game by deleting just its folder, only do that for the cache folders.

    I didn't wait long enough for him to explain that it was on steam he was telling me to uninstall it from, ill see

    Phew thank god, its reinstalling now. thanks, I have to go to school before it even finishes so no use but whatever at least I have it.
