Update Speculation thread

Nice update! I'm not home yet, but I noticed that most of the lights on vanilla cars have been updated to use new textures. Do they also use the halogen effect?

I feel that after this update, this thread is much more deserted than the previous update.

 

For some reason, when I saw the remaster of the Sunburst, I thought that there would be some sort of hybrid version like a phev or an ecvt since the CVT got reworked and actually drives like a Toyota hybrid would minus the ev component. So I'm wondering if the Beamng devs are planning to make a hybrid or start/stop systems because there would be a lot to explore with modern vehicles etc.

I’m just hoping that 0.36 brings the Moonhawk remaster

 

Still waiting on that MD school bus that was "leaked" when the MD originally came out...

 

I suspect the Moonhawk and Hopper will be 2025/2026 holiday updates since those both will be big remasters. The I-Series refresh/remaster would be a good summer update so we get a group B car to fit the new rally stuff

There's a lot "missing" for the MD between what's in the game files and mentioned in the dev blog. It's a bit worrying we've gone 2 updates without seeing it now; I'm worried this will be another case of development limbo like the modern ETK's were at their release

 

Not to mention, I still tend to get big frame drops and sound bugs occasionally when using the MD. I haven't checked in this update yet to see if that's fixed but it wasn't in the patch notes. And no, it is not a hardware issue, I have a 4090 and 7950x3d

btw someone already made a stage 3 mod and this thing is an absolute beast lol (1500hp)

Can you remove the reverse limiter in CVT versions? I can't play the update until Monday unfortunately

 

Very possible for the Moonhawk, but I have some doubts for the Hopper. Since the Hopper gained some interior upgrades and some more PBR to it, I suspect that there won’t be a Hopper remaster anytime soon

 

i think all cars are up to date now. they may lack in content but I know the devs will fill in the gaps in later updates

 

I still live in hope that they've not finished the rally update.

Hoping we get a new old rally car like the iconic ford escort, toyota levin, toyota starlet etc.

 

Hybrids have been requested for quite a while, last time a dev talked about them they said (if i recall correctly) they're a mess to code because the game doesn't like multiple engines on a vehicle

 

geez, this community makes me so exited! And this game makes me feel like im a kid again, hyped and excited about cars again, like I was 10 playing Gran Turismo 2

 

To be honest, One vehicle I really would like to see is ether a Grumman LLV or a GM-EV1.

 

Would it possible to bring sunroof back in future patch update? I wonder why it's been removed.

 

They re-added stuff back in the patches for the 200bx, so they may do the same in the next couple of weeks.
