Greetings This is the remake and an evolution of an old project from 2016 between me & Rmedia Obelisk. Enjoy! To receive the latest updates - here is the discord link: (https://discord.gg/752XuDNrjH) Spoiler: Updates History: Version 1.1: 1- Fixed Eclipse Shadow not showing on the terrain block. Currently there are many missions available - but fair warning - not all missions works the way it should, but the most should work fine from the latest tests i performed on it. How to install: 1- Extract the file. 2- There'll be three files - Put each file in the right folder directory then extract it. 3- EclipseRingMod file should be extracted inside (unpacked) folder. 4- If (unpacked) folder wasn't available inside (Mods) folder then make a new file then rename it (unpacked) then put the EclipseRingMod file inside, and extract it. 5- If (mods) folder isn't inside the main folder of the latest version of the game - make a new folder and name it (mods) to put the (unpacked) inside it. 6- Additional Machines are essential for the missions to work. 7- The Machines are my replicas from the Ridge Racer series. If there are any issues i'll try to help as much as i can, but be informed that i'm not an expert on a certain fatal errors. I know it is unrealistic and intentionally kept it that way rather than removing it - to remain as a feature X) If you wish to support on making it realistic - feel free to let me know X)
It looks cool but I can't seem to install is correctly. I've tried following instructions but maybe I'm not understanding, I dunno, It's a little confusing.
Put the EclipseRingmod.zip inside (mods) folder then make sure that there is another new folder named (unpacked) there - then put EclipseRingMod.zip file there and extract it - after extracting it - delete the (EclipseRingMod.zip) The next one is EclipseRing(Levels).zip folder - put it inside (Levels) folder - extract it then also delete EclipseRing(Levels).zip file. The last one is EclipseRing(missions).zip - go to (gameplay) folder then (missions) folder - put EclipseRing(Missions).zip inside then extract it - after that - delete EclipseRing(missions).zip file. That should make it work. Make sure to restart the game after doing all of those steps. Check repository menu and make sure to agree / accept on using mods to make the game read the mod.
Making which one bigger? The sun scale or the moon scale? If you're talking about the image - if my memory serves me right - it was aligned in such a way it appears like that for a screenshot. Also - in order for the sun disc to be seen from every place on the map - the sun & the moon both needs to be bigger but in visual perception depending on the game default Focal length - which is 60 in free cam calculation on the photo mode. If 60 was 60mm that will be narrower than the human eye perception which is 50mm which makes the visual already unrealistic unless i tailor the POV to 50mm but that is also not guaranteed since the game as far as i know - it doesn't show you the focal length value in real world calculations so we need to rely on assumption which is already contradictory and according to NASA - the total eclipse will cover around 120 miles which is about 200km - my map is around 3km on each direction so i need to make the sun bigger by 20 times and the moon is big enough to cover almost the entire disc but that will make both cosmic objects appear too big in game visual so it is almost impossible to simulate that in the game without tailoring the shadow size to be larger than the made up moon which i put in the game which i believe is impossible to replicate since the shadow distance of the moon needs to be 360.000km and the game was not programmed to simulate that kind of shadow's beginning distance because that needs me to maybe go beyond the capacity of the game engine which could effect the whole map's shadow's calculation on every object which may destroy the game frame rate / FPS and frying PCs to read that kind of calculations. Edit: Actually i need to make them both smaller in visual but the shadow needs to be wider which i believe is not possible since the game doesn't calculate the shadow width from a smaller object (visually) at a very far distance to make it appear big, so i believe it is impossible to get it right no matter what we do.
Notice: New minor update - addresses the issue with the eclipse shadow not showing on the terrain block. If it is still not there please let me know.
