Hotfix confirmed. also I took a look at the notes and it mentions that two highway ramps were reworked. Anyone know what it looked like before and after?
if the next update is the remastered bus im pretty sure the new MD addons (such as the school bus) would come with the bus remaster update
Yeah, I hope that the devs focus on old cars and remasters for older cars this year, but it if they don't, I really want to see a bus update. The Wentward is horribly outdated, and besides a few things, it looks like an abandoned mod from 2018(because the devs have barely touched it since then). The interior is dark and low quality, the lights are unrealistic, and much more. It has tons of potential, including custom configs and new features inside. But the devs would pretty much have to rebuild it from scratch, like with the T-Series. It could also bring a transport mode for career mode that could include buses and taxis. Also, wouldn't it be cool if you could choose what decade of traffic you wanted from the radial menu? For instance, if you click on 1970s, the Barstow, Moonhawk, and Bluebuck would spawn in. I know that this can be done manually, but a simplified vintage traffic version would be neat.
We might get both - I could see a remastered Wentward being a good way to finish up the utility vehicles in 0.35 (along with some more content for the MD-Series), with a remastered pre-1975 car and/or a new pre-1975 car in 0.36. A similar thing happened in 0.15, 0.16, and 0.17/0.17.1, where a pre-1975 car (Piccolina) was released, then updates to existing cars (eSBR, re-proportioned Sunburst/800/H-Series/Roamer/Covet)), then another pre-1975 car (Bluebuck), then a remastered car (Grand Marshal).
I speak mainly for myself when I say this, but... an aero-centric purpose-built circuit racing chassis perhaps? No matter whether it's a sports prototype, an open-wheeler, or a silhouette car, I think it'd complement the multiple purpose-built offroad racing chassis (Autobuggy, D-Series Prerunner, Hopper Crawler, Dunekicker, Rockbasher) and the Gr. 5 Bolide, which does have downforce, but not enough for my liking.
I think they will get around to an open-wheeler once they figure out tire thermals, or aero improvements including slipstream, or both. When those features are done, they'll need a vehicle to showcase that. What I'm saying is this kind of a vehicle is probably not coming too soon
I was wondering a while back if we'd see some vehicle content centred around drag racing, as it's another niche like offroad racing which very few other games do in detail. The only serious competitor I'm aware of is NHRA Championship Drag Racing, every other game seems like a 3D reskin of the old 'Drag Racer' side-scroll flash games by Phantom Games. A funnycar, Modern top fuel rail or even a vintage slingshot dragster would be good as extreme dedicated race cars, and more substantially modified configs (gassers, altered wheelbase, promod, etc.) for the burnside/bluebuck/moonhawk alongside them would nicely fill out a roster for more serious drag racing. the recently added bracket racing and timeslip UI might be a sign of this coming, but it's possible after seeing how many whingers whinged about the offroad content, then the trucking content, they may be planning to instead add drag racing stuff more incrementally.
I feel like drag racing content would be more appreciated than off-road or trucking content - certainly with how many people I see drag-racing and doing highway runs in West Coast in BeamMP. There's also quite a lot of mods for drag-racing content that are/were popular (such as Meo's Drag Parts Pack, which hasn't been updated in almost two years). I'm sure there'll still be a few people who don't want it, but "more power for more cars" is a much easier sell to many people than "new trucks and trailers" or "new off-road cars", as those both involve going slowly.
Now that we have San Francisco themed bus stops, that would be neat if we could also get the bus stop pole instead of this: (I know that's East Coast, not West Coast)
