Hi all, I keep losing all changes and edits to maps (vanilla or otherwise) every time the game's updated. I've watched a couple tutorials, but I'm obviously missing something here, as I can't solve this issue. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Your old edits can be found in the userfolder for the previous game version. When you update the game and launch the game for the first time you get the message that its moving old data to the new location right and your given the option to see whats in the old. Your old level edits are still in there. Just visit your userfolder for 0.33 and move the /levels/ to the new 0.34 folder

For maps you find edits under 0.33\"levels" but it might also be that you have to restore missions and timetrials by restoring the 0.33\"gameplay" contents (at least for the levels you want).

Thanks, guys! That worked great. Can I also also ask how to change the names of spawn points? I'm new at this, and even the most simple things sometimes look like advanced programming for me, ha..

You can edit the names of spawn points in the info.json file, which is located at levels/level_name/info.json. You basically have to copy the file from the game files or the mod files and put it in the folder where all other changes are safed. There you can edit it.

For example, if you want to change a spawn point name on Italy, you have to go to
    Programs/Steam/steamapps/common/BeamNG.drive/content/levels/italy.zip and copy the info.json to userfolder/levels/italy

Inside the info.json, there is a category called "spawnPoints", which contains a list of spawnpoint objects from the scene tree (objectname) with their corresponding menu name (translationId) and preview picture. You can also change the description and title of the map inside that file.

I hope that is helpful :)

Thanks for the clear explanation! I'll try it and see how it goes.

Hello, Ive made my own map, experienced the same problem and fixed it with the fix above. But since 0.38, I cannot find the folder containing the version in my documents folder, it just shows "settings". Is there anyone that could help? Thanks in advance!
