Even in the '30s, this was the case (pre-WWII (presumably pre-1939), about one in five cars in China were Buicks). Perhaps Bruckell or Soliad had a similar popularity in the Beamverse. That was many, many years ago that that was mentioned, though - the Burnside brand features on banner at the start of the Johnson Valley dirt track, so it's likely that it either got revived or never went bankrupt.
I doubt that is true anymore based on the burnside logo on Jonson valley --- Post updated --- why would they revive a brand for it to no longer sell cars
After years of Offroading ( witch was very well made just aint my thing ) then trucks witch i did enjoy but not my thing, This.... This ladys and gentleman. IS the most best. Most enjoyable update i have seen since 2019's Bluebuck. being into pre 1978 stuff. More so into the 30s-40s-50s cars mostly, This..... This is the update ( for me ) To go down in legit history as the great. utes ( am Aussie ) maybe there is a RHD aussie version anyway utes. coupes and more so the often forgotten BUT loved by me lost. 4-door, just have some rusty skins for a rusted wreck. then i be happy, thank god its older then 1970 lol we needed more old Iron. However any dev reading this. i love all you made. even the off road stuff even if am into pre war cars most
Fair enough - it was a recent and discrete addition. Considering we've been getting more vehicles with LHD/RHD versions (Covet and BX-Series), it is possible for there to be a RHD version of the '30s Bruckell for the Australian market. However, we haven't had any RHD US-built vehicles before (almost all the RHD vehicles we've gotten (Covet, BX, Pigeon, Wigeon, Miramar) are all from one Japanese brand, with only the Wydra being the exception) - then again, this car's already breaking many traditions, so that would be one tradition that would be neat to see broken.
Isn't that what Saab did? Cause they went bankrupt a few years ago and they got revived by now making planes.
As far as I know, SAAB's aeronautic branch and SAAB's automotive branch became two different companies at one point and, because of that, SAAB has never stopped making planes.
I absolutely agree. Buick could've simply gone away back then since they already weren't even appealing to the older clientele like they used to. Or at least they could've only kept it for China, since they have been really popular in there. The only shame is that their Park Avenue and LeSabre Sedans, along with the venerable 3.8 V6, were great but gradually lost their appeal in favor of Crossovers and the bean counters replacing the 3.8 with the 2.8/3.0/3.2/3.6 family. Pontiac could've been kept since performance packs and fancy appearance options are the key nowadays to sell a fast car to enthusiasts for larger profit (probably larger than what Chevy makes with exactly the same options for the Camaro and the Corvette). Just like GMC sells the same Chevy SUVs for more money and Cadillac sells them for more still. Real shame.
Technically, they've always been separate. SAAB Automobile was founded in 1945 as a spin-off company under SAAB AB, but in 1990, General fucking Motors bought a 50% stake in SAAB Automobile (raised to 100% in 2000) before selling the company to Spyker in 2010. In Burnside's case, perhaps the brand is being used to sell trucks (just like Fargo and Desoto were in Turkey under Askam from 1964 to 2015 - Gabe referenced the Desoto Firedome a couple times when talking about the Burnside). Imagine this truck, but with a Burnside badge - that's pretty much what could've happened to Burnside in the Beamverse.
So do yall think it wil be released this week? I figured it would be this week from the start lol so it would be nice to be right for once
They were also unified with Scania, as shown on the badge they had when the first share was bought by GM. After that, sometime in the 90s, Scania spun off and now they don't want SAAB to use the badge we know of. In fact, Scania threatened SAAB by way of suing sometime in 2010 for this reason! --- Post updated --- I believe so. I mean, we had Teaser Monday instead of the usual Teaser Tuesday! But I don't think it's gonna drop tomorrow but on Wednesday. Just so they have enough time to drop the first hotfix before the weekend.
Interestingly, about DeSoto trucks, I actually posted something about that in the General Car Discussion thread, but yeah, maybe the Burnside brand could be used to sell trucks.
Though I did just realize: why is Burnside still using the same logo that is (at least) 71 years old?
