I appreciate your answer, i should've thought more about what i said, wish y'all the best! and please update the repo how it used to be =)
They are asking BNG devs not to sell the IP, which they dont seem to have any intention to nor have they ever announced, they literally just said the game will be sold on another platform.
Sure thing! :https://www.beamng.com/conversations/0-32-0-33-data-transfer-failure.153187/ Feel free to get some other devs in the conversation if you want. --- Post updated --- You're welcome! The negative emotions have always been here, just deeper in the forums and focused on other topics. (A sad truth of the internet )
He did actually change his review, shocking. Sucks to suck I guess --- Post updated --- That would literally be impossible
NGL, putting their game on the Epic-Games store and announcing it, was a BAD PR move. It probably would have been better to quietly release it onto the Epic store, instead of announcing it, so they didn't get as much of this bull crap. (hopefully they can use Epic-games multiplayer utilities to their advantage though )
They aren't going to use it for multiplayer, this is just a new platform for it to be sold on. Also, his review is the only one that is complaining about the move.
Maybe, maybe not, but Epic-Games does provide multiplayer services and development help/tools. https://dev.epicgames.com/en-US/services
Epic games literally sucks, it’s impossible to download older versions of the game, like you can with steam console
There's plenty of opinions to be found, because pretty much all platforms do something that's worthy of very valid criticism. For example, some don't like that Steam offers devs an easy way to implement DRM in their games. Others dislike the long list of anti-consumer behaviors of Microsoft in Windows. Etc. It's not possible to cater to all opinions at once. Each person may draw the line in a different place. In our case, you see transparently where the line is: we were not (as suggested) going to hide that we prefer offering more store choices. We worked to widen the reach of the community, and then we have communicated it, so that more interested people can be aware of it. So to reiterate, once again: we are still independent, we didn't sell the company, we didn't implement DRM, we didn't force anyone to switch stores, we didn't suddenly impose online-only restrictions, nor added microtransactions with gambling disguised as gameplay, or any of that nasty stuff. We're still doing the same thing we've been doing all these years. And now you can get our sim at one additional website. Forcing us to abandon the beamng players who preferred EGS is not something that we can consider... other than that, any constructive feedback is always welcome, as it helps us do better
Ughhhh yes you can!! Humble bundle gives you a code to play the game on steam! How many times do I have to explain this. Every single time, no one understands. The humble bundle version comes with both the steam game and the DRM-Free installer. You get a steam activation code with the humble bundle version. And it supports the devs more!
To be fair, I did come across as "hide it from everyone", I never meant hide it hide it, I just meant, don't make a big announcement and tell everybody that already has it or is going to buy it using another store, that the Epic-Games version is for sale, because we already have it and the price would be the same on the new store (I know it's not rn, but that wasn't planned and will be changed). The general perception is that Epic Games has "less desirable" habits. I've already seen a Steam review go negative because of the Epic Games store, and many many forum posts here about "how crappy Epic Games is" etc*, and applied that hate and dislike to you guys. I feel like that could have been avoided, or at least reduced, by only announcing it on the Epic Games store, putting the link to it on the homepage, and this thread. Either way, you guys do you. Do what you feel is best, and I will continue to enjoy the game like always. Thanks for being great developers and I hope you get more players using the Epic Games store. *Not my own feelings btw
Why are people so paranoid and taking this as a sign of a corporate buyout? Most of the popular games we all enjoy on steam are ALSO on the epic store, I don't like the epic store either but there's nothing wrong with having more options to buy the game from.
So you can't get older version in Humble when you have to do it using other site - in this case Steam...
