    basically, i accepted the race, and it gave me a lua error, when i tried to use the car, it just would be like that

    I'm really enjoying the mod but the first car I bought always has the clutch overheating after putting the turbo. The exact same car build in standard beamng does not do that.

    So my question is do parts with higher mileage like the flywheel or gearbox can make the clutch overheat more easily? The car is late gen Pessima.

    a bindle of suggestions:

    road worthiness check: if car is missing a license plate, all front light, or all rear light, missing more than 25% of parts from [door, bumper, hood, trunk], or is missing a muffler, the police chase you on sight (flagged after modification or load, not dynamically at every crash)

    acab special: special kits [neon lights, tuner rear wings, drifiting susps] trigger cops 50% of the time.

    rentals: get a car for limited time. car despawn at time limit, all damage is charged at triple the cost. rental has a tow truck available. if a car is on a tow truck (air speed greater than zero with wheel speed zero idk, or no player inside), cop ignore it's worthiness and acab special triggers

    car delivery: spawn a car, need to get car to destination, car has no license plate (triggers police if you drive it around), car cannot be modified (so police chase you unless towed) damage is charged at triple cost when the mission ends

    illegal cargo: immediately set police in pursuit, cannot completely evade police until mission complete, need to pass checkpoint with zero police visibility

    oh, and of course fifth wheel hitch missions as a fourth level of deliveries. heck I'd love to port this to american road and have some good distance trucking.

    It gave you an error when you accepted the race?

    Could be the odometer but most likely you're forgetting some parts, vanilla part edits load default parts, this mod does not. The final drive gear ratio is one part I know that when removed makes cars sluggish and can burn the clutch. Go through the parts and see if you forgot something. Otherwise try brand new parts for the transmission.

    To address some of these, the part specific police stuff I've considered previously but this game has no universal part types between cars, I can only use string matching and there's almost always issues doing that. Like if I look for "headlight_R" some car will almost inevitably use a different naming scheme for headlights, it becomes a mess to deal with every unique case. I might do this type of feature if devs add a more universal type system for parts that can be used on every car.

    Rentals and car deliveries I'd rather avoid due to the fact that current vehicle ID is in every single part of this mod and just adding the walk mode involved changing (and breaking) a ton of flowgraph. I'm also not really trying to compete with the official career mode in terms of features and activities, this is mostly a street racing focused mod.

    Illegal cargo is a good idea, should be simple enough to add as well. I'll add it to the list. Truck and fifth wheel deliveries have been requested before, I might add them at some point but it's not guaranteed.

    As for the flowgraph editor, I actually made my own optimized rendering mode for it by modifying editor scripts so it only loops over nodes currently in view. It's not perfect, some features like link rendering and node search won't work, some of this stuff is in DLLs so I can't do anything to fix them. But it allows a smooth framerate when zoomed in.

    stretch: car delivery may have locked cars marked traffic but with ai off. it'd need the winch mod to be included.

    thanks for the flow graph thing, I'll have a look at it.

    Thank you for the fast reply! The final drive is installed and I dont think any parts are missing but I'll double check and I'll try a new transmission. Thanks again.

    I also got my game stuck exactly like that but after scrapping the first car that is given at the start, after that I chose my other car, it gave me a lua error and it froze forever like in your screenshot.

    So once my scenario gets a lua error its corrupted and I have to start over?

    Anyone have issues with changing cars ? The camera becomes fixed and I can drive within that fixed angle, but the game functions don't work anymore. Abandon doesn't even work. Might be some mod conflicts, will test later.

    It depends on the error. When I released 1.16 I said the new inventory system would probably be unstable until all the bugs are found and fixed, and advised players to back up often. That way if things go wrong you can ALT+F4 and reload your backup at minimal loss of progress. If you get errors, relaunch without restoring a backup and still get the same issues it's possible corrupted files are in your save. You should also make backup copies of your beamLR folder.
    Weird, never had this happen before. If it happens again post your log files.
    Usually if the camera becomes stuck in place it means vlua crashed and yeah it'll break other features considering a lot of the mod relies on vlua calls. Abandon waits for vlua to respond during vehicle saving before quitting so that's probably why it doesn't work. Try a clean userfolder reinstall first but if you still get the issue there should be an error in console when changing cars, so post logs and I'll take a look.

    By the way, this is unrelated to above quoted posts but I got a bug report about selective repair on github and fixed the issue for next version. This bug happens when leaving some parts unselected, if a part being removed is a child part that itself has child parts the game tries to remove it twice which throws an error. One example would be the pickup bed with a tailgate that has lettering attached. The tailgate is both a child of the bed and a parent of the lettering.

    Replace scripts/customGuiCallbacks.lua with this patched version to fix the issue.

    Try without mods and let me know if you still get the issue, if you do post the log files. Console screenshots are okay but it's easy to miss earlier errors, especially when loading cars, because the earlier output gets overwritten by a bunch of jbeam messages and just isn't shown in console.

    will beamlr ever have modded cars compatibility or is that not possible? theres a mod that adds a few cars to beamlr and its pretty cool, but is it the only way people can add modded cars to it?

    Been a while but I'm gonna post some suggestions again for the future of this beautiful project.
    1:Race club car class restrictions
    2:Race courses (also the race name should be shown while racing) 'best time' (in the class restriction) where if you beat the prev time you get a gift of $, rep, or other
    3: When choosing a car from the garage, having the damage $ seen so we can choose what we wanna fix or not at any time without choosing the car blind
    4: Player experience/level, required for clubs, so if rep gets too low, you can't participate in certain clubs like hero or gold.
    5: exponential penalty system for not accepting a race/challenge after 3 turns (other number)

    UI changes: Add the beam state toggle and other settings as smaller icons in the main menu (under the main icons) No need for text. But if devs fix the couplers bug maybe not ?

    That error message is completely useless to me, I need log files. But I'm pretty sure this is the same error others are getting, I just need a way to replicate the error myself to fix it. If you get the issue after playing a bit, it's possible this is caused by the selective repair bug I already fixed for next version. If you get this issue pretty quickly (say you start a new career, buy a new car and immediately after trying to switch to it the game bugs) this is something else.

    Technically possible, wouldn't work well. Because jbeam files for modded cars and parts very often ignore the value field which was completely useless up until the official career mode became a thing. There's also no odometer ranges to differentiate between used and new cars. The car shop files define value and odometer ranges manually, I pick old/beater configs for the highest odometer and cheapest prices. I don't see how this could be done automatically, nothing in jbeam says "this car is a beater and should be dirt cheap" other than the value field, but then some cars that aren't beaters also have dirt cheap values set in jbeam. Then there's the part randomization which has never been a thing in jbeam files.

    Race club class restrictions are planned, as well as a way to skip bronze and silver leagues so technically once you have a fast enough car you only have to beat gold league. I like the idea of seeing damage in garage UI, should be very easy to add. When (or if) beamstate starts working again there might be slight inconsistencies with repair price when taking it out because loading beamstate has never been perfect but it should be close enough to give you an idea of the repair cost. I wouldn't lock race clubs behind rep requirements, this could potentially lead to a state where you're soft locked out of doing races. As for penalty for not accepting, I'm planning to have race club RNG follow a seed just like car shops. So no more re-rolling until pink slips or best wagers. The only way to get another race would be to sleep till next day (and lose rep) or accept the race. Race stats and achievements could be a good addition at some point, I'll keep it in mind. As for the options menu, I'm probably gonna add a the + - buttons like for car slots in the options menu so you don't have to scroll as much to find certain settings, that should improve the UX a bit. I'd rather keep the text to explain what these settings to for new players.

    They're in the userfolder, also make sure you update to latest version before reporting bugs, this is literally the first step in the troubleshooting guide.
