Update Speculation thread

Id rather have an offical and trusted way to get everyone off my backs about my opinion on paid mods.

Have you ever bought a game without buying the DLC? If you have games like "snowrunner" without DLC, you will know what i mean.

 

empty wallet but you can afford electricity, water, food, internet and a pc good enough to run beam? there always seems to be a lack of logic with you type, just admit that you don't like modders being compensated for their work.

 

what exactly are you missing out on if you don't buy a mod?

 

You are missing the point completely. The fact that they are their just standing their taunting me is EXTREMELY annoying. Play "Snowrunner" without buying the DLC and you will find out what I mean FAST.

Everytime (In Snowrunner) you select a car their are 10 DLC cars just standing there. You can look at them but you can't use them. Seemingly taunting your lack of funds by being viewable.

I don't want that in my Beam.NG repo experiance.

Now can we drop the "why can't u afford mods?" "why do you hate them so?" Crap? I JUST DON'T WANT PAID MODS TO BE IN MY REPO!!! ITS THAT SIMPLE!!! So please just shut up and and quit harassing me.

 

If paid mods do get added to the repo there will probably be a tab at the top of the in game repo for paid mods as there is a seperate tab for automation mods.

 

I feel all your pain, which penetrates every cell of your body when you go shopping and there are so many delicious things, but you do not have enough money for all these foods, drinks, phones, watches and other attributes of life) In the end - what? Ban all stores? Just ignore the paid mods) I personally bypass even the free ones).

 

At this point iv'e stopped wanting to ban them. I just don't want a "everything Rolls-Royce" superstore opening up in my virtual front lawn.

 

Then either ignore them or hide them.

 

How easy do you think it would be to ignore a rolls-royce superstore in your front lawn? Do you know how big a superstore is!?

Its not like a web browser were I can close the tab. No... the tab would ALWAYS BE THERE reminding you of what you cannot have.

No, but I have to look at the store to get to my destination. (deleting/managing automation mods I made)

Try "Snowrunner" without buying the dlc's, play the game, and then tell me to ignore them.

 

I agree that having in-game content visible but behind a paywall is not a nice experience. It reminds you that 'hey, you have the game, but not all the game'. Here would be different though, mods are mods, and the repo is the repo.

 

Why do you need to have them all? Seriously, they aren't Pokem0n, are they? The only DLC vehicles I own in that game are the free ones, but does that mean I'm complaining online about not having them? No, of course not!

 

well are you gonna be playing beamng most of the time, or looking at the repo most of the time? at least in beam it's a sandbox and unlike in snowrunner you won't need a certain dlc to achieve a certain goal. and like others have said it would likely be a separate menu in the repo that you won't need to look at unless you choose to. it's not like the repo is your lawn, it's a place you go to get things you want, and in life sometimes things we want cost money. besides, I'm pretty sure the devs would be taking a cut of each sale so it'd be supporting them (and even if you don't want to support the devs and modders in such a way, why rob the opportunity from others?).

So I haven't been speaking on the threads in a few years, but I'm going to say my speculations about a certain vehicle in BeamNG that is my favorite that is missing out on vehicle refreshes and remasters. The Hirochi sunburst. Why? Well, for starters, The sunburst needs a lot of touching up and modernization, updated textures, slight remodeling of parts, updated and reworked taillights/headlights, interior etc. And the fact the last time the sunburst had a major change or update was back in 2019, in the 0.16 Update. It isn't that far off to say that it's been 5 years since the sunburst had a makeover by the devs. It probably won't be a full remaster, but more of a refresh update, like how it was for the ETK 800 and K series. It could also be including different body style, since it's 4 door sedan, it may also include hatchback variants or facelift variants as well. I also can't shake off the fact that the interior of the racing and rally variants need more realism and it is missing that potential. I know some other vehicles are in need for a makeover by the devs, but I want to share my speculations about my all time favorite car in the game receiving a refresh.

 

There’s some cars that are more outdated than the Hirochi Sunburst. For example, the Bruckell Moonhawk. It looks hideous and hasn’t been updated in more than 11 years. The Sunburst still looks okay, but I’d just rather remaster all the cars that are mostly outdated and have more low poly textures.
