Hello everyone, I have decided to start a rare automotive parts thread as I love seeing the cool things people have! If you got any pics of rare parts, cool merch or memorabilia or anything cool post them up! Here’s some cool things for my S13 https://share.icloud.com/photos/087PUjYLuOjkZOVzrZUH7IPAQ
Got a few rare parts/accessories in my collection Dealer-fit Vauxhall/Opel 'Travel Assistant' (+mounting base & wiring) that I kept after getting rid of my old Vectra C. It replaces the rear middle seat and is a big centre console thing that contains a fridge, two airline-style fold out tables and two cupholders. Very rare to come across and in high demand among Vectra/Signum owners. Bought mine off eBay. Set of 18'' "Vortex" alloy wheels from a Rover 75 that I was originally going to fit to my MG ZT but never got round to it. These alloys are literally the holy grail amongst 75 owners. Plus an original Rover 75 'Premium Bumper' that was also very rarely specced factory option. Both of these were Facebook Marketplace purchases. Original 'Snow Cap' currently fitted to my Volvo 480. Goes over the hood vent and looks like a bonnet scoop. Its actual purpose is to stop snow from falling down the vent and clogging up the scuttle panel. Bought off eBay many many years ago. Original Volvo 240 centre armrest with cupholders accessory. Found that in a scrapyard sitting in an old 240 about 7 years ago. Never used Hartge strut brace from a Hartge H5 E28 (special version of the BMW E28 M5). Saw this at the Beaulieu Autojumble when I went around 2010 Complete 'Haas Tuning' body kit including bumpers, side skirts, wheels and interior wood trim pieces for a Volvo 760 Estate. Found in the same scrapyard as the Volvo 240 and spent an entire day removing the parts off it. I even found the brochure in the glovebox (sadly all in German) that allowed me to identify what parts were Haas and what were just standard Volvo. Scrapyard owners wanted £1000 for everything off it which was a lot at the time, but I'm glad I did as I've never seen the kit anywhere else and have had a few sizeable offers for it.
This reminds me of the fact that you could get a small fridge addon for the Ford Flex. Of course, it was a small center console for the 2nd row captain's chairs which could only hold about a four-pack of cans, so it isn't that useful. Probably was created for rich people to spend money on. Instead, we have a third row (which we've only used once when our Grandma was visiting).
