Hi everyone. I wanted to make a thread to keep track of the quickest quarter mile times without mods. Drag racing is probably my favorite thing to do on BeamNG so this is an idea I had to get the community to jump in on the fun. Some rules I think should make it fair for everyone. Feel free to suggest more (or less) rules. General rules: - All entries should have video of the pass to be added to the leaderboard with the drag race UI app. - All cars will have their own leaderboard and a leaderboard for fastest and/or quickest overall. - No weather changes, passes should be made on the out-of-the-box weather for the map of your choice. - Traditional engines only (I4, V6, V8, etc.) - Must have all body panels. - Must have a roll cage. I'll add the leaderboards as this thread develops, but for now this is a good start. Quickest Overall: 6.311 - Sawachuki 6.559 - Bettsi 6.714 - trm7 - Bruckell Moonhawk 7.375 - The Black Sheep - Ibishu 200BX Fastest MPH Overall: 230.56 - Sawachuki 227.32 - Bettsi 204.36 - The Black Sheep 200.51 - trm7 189.81 - The Black Sheep
Maybe you should add a new rule for all the modded runs: no rockets/physics manipulations Because with them, you can make a t-series do a sub-second quartermile
I like that idea. Keep it to "traditional" engines only. Also going to add no changing the weather. I haven't tried it, but I know the temp does affect cooling performance, not sure if it would affect ETs.
5.90s with a 1.14 60' is insane. My PB with a modded 200BX was 5.96 at 230 or so. Edit: never mind it's fixed lol Edit2: Should we also add what version the pass was made on?
Damn, that was close. Adding versions is a good idea, I think my covet run was 31.3 Impressive... I will look into my non-modded archives to see if I've got any Here is a vid of my own 'in-development' car doing a quarter mile, its primarily made for the track, but its pretty good at the quarter. This is 31.3 as well I think, did this run in april. It definetly raises the bar for first place : )
Do hovercars count as traditional? I mean it would be considered traditional in the future. And the one I’m going to use is basically just an EV with invisible wheels
No physics mods? Excessive grip tires? I would say no, since part of drag racing tuning is in the tire size, type, etc. A hovercar opens the same door as using a jet engine, it's not really restricted on the launch. Still though I'd like to see what you built!
That car uses a downforce fan, similar to the one I made a long time ago https://www.beamng.com/resources/vulcan-hypersport-the-fastest-track-car.21199/, this creates a lot of normal force during launch which helps the tires get incredible grip. Its also completely striped down and made entirely from carbon-fiber and as a result, weighs less than 700kgs wet. It also has a custom modded automation engine which literally runs on N2O, allowing it to make upwards of 4k hp. So thats around 6-7hp per kg, which is a lot... usually sports cars have 6-7kg per hp. The tire grip coef is slightly less than an average drag tire, the grip u see in the vid is provided by the normal force. Its primary and only mode of moving forward is the engine, but that fan allows it to put the power down. Here is a production car doing the same thing but since its supposed to be road legal, its pretty tame: Its almost physics-defying but it isnt
Shoot, definitely did not consider that sort of mod when I started this. I feel like how a lawyer must feel when he realizes a loophole that benefits his opponent lmao Well it's 1/4 mile times, not 0-60, but if you run it the full quarter mile it can!
I just didn't have the 1/4 time but I knew the 0-60 and it was an automation mod I made so I just didn't know if it'd count. Good news is though I made another one that is faster. Will post 1/4 time when I can.
I am looking to make my entry on this list, I believe I have the record but I want to make sure I am following the rules. It is vanilla with V16 but it says traditional engines only, are V16 against the rule?
