Talk about your good or bad memories on this forum. Mine? The day rider450 and awesomesauce joined, They were my best play toys so far.
I remember when I argued with negativeice and some other member. I also remember the forum before the game was released, it was such a peaceful and calm place. You could check every thread and read every post without having a thousand threads in the what's new page.
My fondest memory was right when I made my account, I read through the whole official screenshots thread. It was cool walking through the whole development of the game (at that point) in just like an hour. I read the whole thing. Every post of every page. I reread pages and posts multiple times. It was awesome. There were only like 30 pages at that time. Now it'd take you a few hours to read through that whole thing. I then proceeded to read through every post of the forums that existed at the time.
fond memories of a forum? What's in my head right now is Dr Cox from scrubs doing that thing where he's begging for something to not have been concieved of "Oh god please! dear god no!" I have fond memories of the first time I drove a car, but a forum? How? How can an iconic moment in your life, one you look back on, be possible on a forum? I enjoy the forum, the community is nice but a fond memory? holy crap. Only the devs should be able to do that, this is their baby that devote effort to and support a nice game with.
My favorite was getting a cookie for signing up within the first few hours of this forums creation... then the cookie wars began... and it was grand.
I remember when 6677 first joined the forums. I remember thinking he was just some scrub who was trying to enlarge their post count. Boy was I wrong. Luv u 6677
Back when I was one of the first Beta testers after RoR. A lot has changed... Gabester can make cars now ( lol jk just better than the gv's and the funny Ridgeline) and many more quality mods.
I remember for about a month after the forums opened before most of the current crew joined, 90% of the posts were me and about 15 other people. I think I had almost 200 posts in 1/2 a month. If you talk to people that used forums back in the late 90s and early 00s you always hear how it was a community. No one lied, you were just talking to your friends. It kinda felt like that. Now it's a lot more busy. It's still good, just different.
I remember looking at the Bolide dev thread and thinking it looked like the absolute bee's knees with steelies. Seeing new cars pop up in the official showroom was super neat too.
