    I. Background

Hey, friends. If you've visited this thread, you're probably wondering what goes into making a plane mod for BeamNG. After all, nearly every mod falls flat! Well, allow me to explain.

    1. Model

The first step to making a mod is creating the base model for it. This is already a huge problem, if you want a GOOD mod, you'll have to put an excruciating amount of effort into making every detail. In my opinion, there are 3 stages of modeling quality. The first stage is the smooth stage. The model resembles what it's supposed to be, but it's not detailed. The second stage is the decoration stage. The model has some smaller details on it such as doors or windows. The third and hardest stage is the grain stage, meaning every grain of sand is included. All the sensors, lights, and buttons are fully modeled. Usually, an aviation mod falls between 2 and 3.

    2. Texture

The second step to making a mod is creating textures. This step is also awfully difficult. Once again, there are the 3 stages of detail. The textures follow the same steps. 1, smooth, 2, deco, 3, grain. Usually falls between 2 and 3, you get the idea.

    3. Coding

Now, the WORST step of all is the coding. Take everything you know about planes. The engines, the flaps, the aerodynamics, the doors, the buttons, the physics, etc. Done? Code ALL of that into one thing. This is the longest part. I don't even want to describe how long it takes. Yuck.

    4. Sound Design

We're almost there! Remember those engines, buttons, flaps, and doors? Now, make sounds for all of those! You can either source sounds from online or attempt to make your own. Back to the coding part, now make it so that all of these sounds are adaptive to what the player does. Yay, right?

    5. Hope People Care

You can now release your mod! However, will people care about it? That's up to them. The reception can make or break your months of hard work. Good luck!

I know this is off-topic, but it's crazy that you have a video on your YouTube channel with 1M+ views

I mean I made a whole plane over the course of about a year starting from only being able to make basic mods. Like bumpers or airbrakes for cars. It just takes A LOT of research and learning jbeam. But if you have even basic knowledge of blender then you'll be able to do it. Especially with the new tools for jbeam in blender (im incredibly jealous)

Sorry if it's off-topic , but what is the saddest in that is the amount of plane we could've nearly got, so sad.
