Every version of the game between 0.3.0.0 and 0.3.8.3 has no official archive or any means of access. After Beam hit Steam early access, everything before 0.4 was seemingly scrubbed, inaccessible through even the Steam console. I have made my own attempt at archival, but the yield is... small. Here's a bulleted list of all of the builds I don't have: -8/4/2013 build not going to be searching for this one. -0.3.1 -0.3.2 -0.3.6, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 6.5, 6.6, 6.7, and 6.8 -0.3.7, 7.1, .2, .3, .5, .8, .9 -0.3.8.3 EDIT 1: Found 0.3.6.9, 0.3.7.6, 0.3.7.7, 0.3.8.0 EDIT 2: A lot of time has passed since last edit and with a lot of help from friends (and the internet archive), we've found many more versions! This is a call to the devs and a call to YOU. Only YOU can help solve this issue (unless action is taken by BeamNG). If you have an old hard drive lying around somewhere, dust it off and comb through it. If you find something, tell me! I'll cross entries off the list above as more versions are recovered. Thank you for reading, SuperAgentAlex
I have the 0.3 but sadly I can’t share it with you, If I did though my account would get banned as due to piracy, because some members on beamng don’t even have beam. It doesn't matter if it’s the oldest. It’s still piracy.
you have a point, although that would mean that the internet archive is technically facilitating piracy as they have 0.3.8.1 available in full with no proof of purchase required.
Sadly, can't help. But, if you can help me navigate through the files, i can probably get you old files of beam, since i own the game from a very long time ago. Don't know if it will help, because i don't have an .exe file to run the game. I will search now, and if there will be progress, i will tell you --- Post updated --- Also i have the 0.1 build (the one that a dude found on an old hard drive) Can give it to you, if there is a problem with that, i won't.
0.1? Jeez, i would love to own that some day. Before any nerds get mad, i know it was uploaded somewhere else.
Cool. The build is a bit unstable though, you have to do stuff in options for it to run Dry Rock normally. Atleast that's what a person in a video said. I personally never encountered any issues.
I have a old laptop with a very old version of BeamNG from september 2013, sadly. The hinge of it broke while moving home, the whole screen snapped off. I'll see if I can get the files off the hard drive as it is currently at someone trying to repair it. (It's very valuable to me.) I'll keep you posted.
Yes. The story was made up and posted on Reddit. It was that a small leak had happened in may 2013 where the devs accidentally made it public. No record of this has ever been seen on the forums, or on youtube. I have found footage of the dev livestream from June 2013, and it had vastly different bugs. For example, the particles emitted with collision were clearly cube shaped. It would spread in obvious cube shaped patterns, no matter the situation. This was fixed in the public version. From august 3rd 2013. In the 0.1 version we see the same particle pattern from 0.3. There is also evidence of a stripped down t-series model, which at the time was 2.5 years from release. This makes no sense. Third piece of evidence is the fact that many files were created after may 2013. An early theory was that it would have to do with the fact that the OC had opened the wrong installer after buying 0.3 on launch, but this was quickly proven wrong, as installing 0.3 in 2023 does not change the date of the files. It appears that 0.1 was based off 0.3.x and had some parts from 0.7.4 or 0.3.8.1 which are available on the internet. That’s all the evidence I can remember. If this doesn’t change your view I don’t know what to say. Many YouTubers like sky fall and toast were fooled, and posted viral videos about it.
Oh. I wish i knew that before. Well still, it's a build that looks like a dev version of 0.3.x Still cool though. --- Post updated --- Sorry for spreading disinformation.
