I know that there are people that would really like construction vehicles and such, but the majority wouldnt. Which would be lot of work for a "niche" (maybe sometimes in the future, but i think they have their priorities around career currently)
While there are farming sims and snowrunner, those games are specialized about that (its what you expect to get playing them). And i feel like devs dont want the career gameplay to be too time consuming (i think i saw once comment from dev saying how they will keep fast travel, so people who dont have lot of time to play, dont need to constantly drive around, that makes me think that they will keep most or all things in career more "faster paced")

While construction equipment is highly specialised, like offroad racing vehicles, it's a niche which no other games fill.
But this game's physics engine/drivetrain model is naturally well suited to simulating long travel suspension with multi-bypass shocks, as it is for a hydrostatically operated excavator drivetrain, while having the excavator interact physically in a realistic manner, so naturally, the devs are moving to corner these "markets" for gameplay.

Case in point - the Wydra. Barely any games have an amphibious ATV like it - and none of those get the physics quite as accurate. (Many Argo-esque AATVs, like the Scrounger from Unturned, still steer like regular cars.) Amphibious ATVs aren't the most popular vehicles among driving-game enthusiasts, so it's nice to see this type of vehicle with similar functionality to its IRL counterparts. (Admittedly, there have been many calls from people to delete the Wydra due to its funky steering and lack of suspension).

people wanted to delete my baby?!!1!?

    truly evil

But yeah, it’s an uncommon vehicle type for sure. And it’s certainly a welcome one for me.
Also, it still turns like normal in a game called Unturned - ironic

I have just seen "Texas US Plate Design" in the parts selector on the plate design rolldown.
I dont know if it is from one of the mods I use. (I dont think so)
    Was it there before?

It’s been in-game since before 0.26, probably way earlier

I think beamNG needs more weird vehicles like the wydra

Yeah, that's what I always think, as well - I love using the Wydra, myself. It's my favorite Beam vehicle.

Indeed - Beam's so well-suited to simulating oddball vehicles. One of the reasons why the Piccolina doesn't have an engine smaller than 1100cc (which is quite big for a '60s Italian city car) is that the devs were afraid that smaller engines would be "too underpowered" (even though again, nobody has to use the base-model versions of any vehicle if they don't want to). It's quite funny how the devs went from that to making a tiny tank which can't go over 100 km/h anywhere except a steep downhill.

Which parameters are canonical for ai? 8-12 cars? How many in the parking lot? And so on and so forth

Why the heck delete one of the most characteristic vehicles of the game? Jesus, if someone doesn't like the Wydra, just don't use it (I use it very often because I'm amazed by the way the water physics are implemented)! It's the exact reason why I don't really use the normal Covet all that much, but I use the MR Turbo variant instead! ;)

    High clutch temperature...

But really, Wydra is pretty much unplayable on keyboard and hardly playable on gamepad because of how the drivetrain works. It might be realistic and might require you to learn how to drive it, but the majority will just turn around and go back to driving their usual cars instead – which is what I think killed it.

Exactly, BeamNG is the perfect platform for simulating weird and oddball vehicles, along with their technologies of course! For example, the centrifugal steering mechanism used in the Wydra could also be implemented in a Bobcat dozer (which could be part of a Quarry-/Construction-themed update, we already have the new T-Series Dump bed variants plus the Frameless Dump Trailer), a military tank (which, of course, could be part of a military-themed update) and, last but not least, a bulldozer with creepers!
Or the way the excavators and farming tractors (which by themselves could be part of an agricultural-themed update) react to road bumps due to their lack of suspension systems, so they have to use their large tires as absorbers!
