Hello everyone!
It may have been a while since I last released a new mod or update but rest assured, I have not been slacking!
In fact, I challenged myself to, once again, create a very detailed and high effort mod. Something I wanted to do for YEARS now.
I present you: The Saphire GT7!
It's a 1 to 1 replica of a Saleen S7 and will be released on the Repository some time next year (2024).

(Progress from 29.08.2023) (Rims and engine model are placeholder meshes from Forza for now)

I have been working on this for the past 5 months and have amounted 1.2Gb or images and videos as reference. A bunch is just to have it, others for tiny details. I am trying my very best to get it as close to the real thing as I possibly can. I really like this car and going this in depth with it and the company which made it has been pretty fun so far.
I have even found images of the actual Saleen S7 model from Phil Frank, the designer of the car! I will try to also tell as much lore about the car as I can via this mod (as well as my future projects)

I also already have modeled the frame, it and the suspension are not finalized yet however. Mechanicals are also very WIP but will try to be as true to the original as possible.

JBeam: Everything
Model: Finalizing frame, modelling mechanicals, model more parts, Interior
Textures/UV: Everything

FAQ
Q: Will it be free?
A: Yes.

Q: Is it scratch made?
A: Yes.

Q: Will the JBeam be scratch made?
A: Yes.

Q: What will the polycount be?
A: Close to the Scintilla, once finalized, ~160k tris

Q: How many configs will it have?
A: About 30, including 3-4 race cars, all factory versions and various custom builds.

Q: Wait, didn't they stop producing the Saleen S7 in 2009?
A: Yes, they did, however they built at least 2 cars in 2017 and recently stated on social media: "yes, we are currently building a few right now"

Q: When relez?
A: Read the first 5 lines of this thread.

Just so anyone on the forums knows, this mod is still very much in development, I just haven't updated the thread in a while
You can stay more up to date on the BeamNG Discord server. I'll post some progress images here now as well though to un-dead this thread.

Lots of progress on the frame; Suspension geometry sorted out

Progress on front suspension models

In game mesh test (This is just a mesh slap on the Scintilla, the car is not properly in game yet)

I also commissioned some rims which will be absolutely baller

The Saleen is 4.7m long and 2m wide while being barely over 1m tall

The LM isnt a race version but a street legal car, but yes, that’s also gonna be made alongside a few S7Rs
