My laptop in my sig has the same specs as yours, and gets up to 45FPS, as well as only 70C. Your fans must suck.

You ruined my day, it runs fine till it overheats and yes putting a massive fan in it will fix it because it worked!

Wat. That makes no sense. Of course it has thermal paste, it's just that most factory paste sucks. And yes, I'm like 95% sure your laptop has a fan in it.

If there's no dust buildup and the fans are all functioning, it's the thermal paste. It could have dried out over time. If you don't know what you're doing, I recommend you don't mess around with your stuff.

This thread is the reason I say laptops are useless for gaming. You can put a 5960X into a laptop if you want, but it will run at 1.4 Ghz or overheat. It just won't work.

    1. Go out and buy some thermal paste. (Best Buy has it. Pretty sure Staples does too.)
    2. Open up the bottom of your laptop.
    3. Remove heatsink.
    4. Clean old paste with paper towel with rubbing alcohol on it.
    5. Watch video on applying new paste to a laptop.
    6. Do it.

Shouldn't overheat anymore. If it does, then your laptop is extremely crappy or you did it wrong.

if you really cant cool off your pc then you might want to try to undervolt with throttle stop, if the fan only reaches 80% then perhaps your bios is outdated and they released a fix, if windows controls your fan then try uninstalling 'ACPI Compliant Fan' and rebooting, if it really is that bad you could try disabling cores at a last resort, sticking a peltier to the bottom of that laptop is extreme, but might be the only fix

    **EDIT**
    Sorry for bump
