As many of you know net neutrality is being taken for money. (Again :|) I'll be honest and say that, even though I know the idea and have it in my head, I'm not good at explaining it. Imagine it being a merge of cellphone plans and cable TV. They will charge you for the amount of data, the speed and the number of people using it at once like a cell phone plan. They will also charge companies to get unthrottled pages and you for these pages. Lets say you like cooking and racing games (IDK why) you would probably need to pay for an extensive plan as they aren't on the list of "common" pages/"channels like CNN or facebook. Also, companies could block anyone they want (by truly blocking them or throttling to heck and back) especially sites that do not agree with them or their political agenda. Sites such as www.battleforthenet.com which are fighting them would get blocked pretty quickly. Funnily enough battleforthenet is one of the main places where the communities voice is heard. They are pushing comments to the FCC from their page and have even had people hand-delivering them to the FCC office when their page went down. If net neutrality falls through and the cable companies win again I can only hope that municipalities start to work with the people that live there to provide internet access as a part of their utilities and keep it separate from the stupid cable companies. This whole world is so messed up because of how big of an influence money has on everything. There is no actual politics anymore it is just who can pay the most to get their issue heard the most until everyone just says ok fine we'll let you have it if you shut up. Kinda like how the Phone companies got 4G changed from what it was supposed to be which was 100MBps on the move (trains, cars, busses) and 1,000MBps stationary. They started to use 4G as a BS buzz word for marketing and the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) backs down and just said fine whatever do what you want... It's a joke. Money has too much influence in this world and honestly shouldn't even exist because it has done nothing to help advance the world and if anything has actually slowed tech development down because of things like the 4g debacle.

even 3g is technically capable of 100mb/s+ data rates. Its down to 3 limitations really though. Multiple users accessing the base station. Interaction between base station and ISP. Providers just not giving a fuck about giving people ridiculous transfer speeds.

Ted Cruz is an idiot who should never had been elected. Also, verizon is to mobile as comcast is to internet. Their CEOs and board of directors need to be shunned by society.
Wat, comcast ia awesome though (at least in my area, plus only cheap and reliable option where I live, other option is home phone adsl from at&t, ill take 50mb/s down and 5mb/s up over more expensive 5mb/s down and 0.68mb/s up (no joke either, our current speeds with comcast are cheaper then our old at&t adsl)) Sent from the 3rd galaxy via the talks of tapping
I looked through some of the things written by the ITU and they were saying that these things should be possible if you are going to call it 4g. Yes we have trouble with internet especially in the US but that is not due to tech limitations more so due to the cable providers being garbage and worrying mroe about their bottom line than actually providing a good service to customers. Internet speeds in some countries in Europe and Asia blow what we have in North America out of the water. It's sad really, we can beat almost any country in military tech but our internet is so garbage because of the stupid telecomm companies that are basically setup in a monopoly.
