Over the last couple of years, BeamNG has largely standardized their gameplay into distinct modes: time trials, bus routes, chases, garage to garage, to name but a few. So, what other unique challenges could the game provide? And how would these be different than the modes we have now? Please try to keep your suggestions from being something fixed to a single vehicle or level unless necessary, or from requiring content we don't have. Beyond that, let your imaginations soar
I'll begin: Taxi mode. It would function a lot like an arrive mission, with a [generous] time limit, traffic, and a destination. The gimmick is that the score/cash you receive at the end isn't based on how expedient you are, but how much distance you cover; you're paid by the mile. So you're incentivized to get to the destination on time, but using the longest available route.
I hope to see more Stuntman-esque missions in the career, but with more elaborate setups. For example, missions where you have to operate the camera boom car, keeping close enough to the action, but not getting in the way of other shots, or running into anything. Another (slightly unrelated) idea for making the stunt campaigns more polished: At the end of one "film" campaign, the player could be rewarded with one of 3 pre-recorded cutscenes, each fully edited variants of the stunt sequence as they would be in a final movie, but with varying levels of editing "quality"; If you complete it to gold standard, you get shown the "perfectly" edited version, with really smooth, well composed camera work, pretty much all in-game footage (with some tasteful VFX on top), and perfectly choreographed stunts throughout. But if you only complete it in bronze, the cutscene you're shown has lots of jumpcuts disguising poorly executed stunts, dodgy looking greenscreen additions, poorly matched engine sound effects, generally just a humorous badly made film. in either case, it wouldn't be a replay of your actual run, just one made by a staff member (or outsourced to a youtube film creator perhaps?)
Hope that in career mode, cars are more "characterized", have long-memory odometer and fuel efficiency, aging and failing parts, used-cars markets (maybe creating a live-market among users), and even parts market...
How about an attack mode? You have to try to deliver expensive cars to a destination while a few SUVs try to stop you and destroy the cars.
