Yeah you might remember me being excited about having my cpu. It arrived today and it wasn’t the processor I ordered. It was a 5700g that came. I’ve contacted the seller again. Imma just buy a processor from a different seller. So which one would get better performance in beamNG? (most vehicles)
https://versus.com/en/amd-ryzen-7-5800x-vs-amd-ryzen-9-3950x you can find info about them here if you are interested, ive been doing this for a while building pcs and helped me a lot (consider having a beefy cooler for the ryzen 9)
heres some numbers: i7-3770: 5 cars (fps maintained), anymore and it drops to half or 16fps i5-13600KF: 1+17 normal traffic / 1+21 simplified (no police cars as they're normal vehicles) i9-12900KF (courtesy of franscobec from beamng server, thank you): 1+20 vehicles ryzen 7 5800x (courtesy of Lord Farquaad from beamng server, thank you): 1+6 normal traffic / 1+8 simplified I don't have much tests so I cant give any definite answers. Although just a general rule: if you want more vehicle, you just need to pair your gpu with a higher end cpu, but beamng tends to "spread" the vehicles on the road so its not cramped into 1 spot; you're gonna see more vehicles but it still doesnt make the game livelier is what im getting at. (tested with 40 vehicles) My only "reputable" source was getting people to do a bunch of tests and correlating with 3dmark timespy. Edit: I'm still working on a benchmark 2.0
7 cars??? That’s much lower than the benchmarks from youtube (older builds of beamNG) They were playing with 10 cars (0.21) and 20 cars with half the fps. How does a 11 year old quad core almost keep up with a 2 year old 8 core
These results are all at native 1440p. HDMI has output for 4k but I use DP now for that 165hz and 10 bpc support, does not support TV 4k. I've updated my signature so they are less confusing
