I have little idea how a tire thermic can be implemented with this tire geometry...., perhaps the tires need to be redesigned to look like "ACC" first. So that there would be an outer, inner, and center portion of the tire? Then future thermal properties and tire wear can be adequately controlled, rather than trying to make a "whatever" tire.

I realize this would require a lot of computing power, but how else?

Hopefully, switching to vulkan will free up resources to implement normal tire design.

Moreover, now when driving on a flat surface I can feel the impact of these huge triangles of tires on the roadway hitting my steering wheel, as if the wheel is not round, but polyhedral, "that's just the way it is" hits the steering wheel youk-knock-knock-knock-knock-knock-knock-knock.....

After all, the game is about cars, and tires are one of the main if not the most important part of the driving experience

It seems to me that by ignoring this fact we are digging ourselves a deeper and deeper hole, and sooner or later we will have to redesign the tire model, but how painful it will be depends on how deep we dig, it won't be very pleasant to fix everything after introducing tire thermics, wear, etc.

Please support this topic, and I ask the developers to answer about the plans for this, and reassure those concerned about these issues like me.

Simulating wheels to that point would be very resource intensive, other games can do that since they don't simulate all of the cars phisics, just aero, tires, suspension and engine
And the devs are probably working on tire stuff, most of the things they release have been being made for a long time.

That's understandable, I wrote about performance and all that, we are interested in the development sequence, I'd like to get an idea of what it is and what it should look like in the end, it's just that we are promised thermal tires, I don't believe in a good implementation of that without a complete redesign of the tire model

The biggest issue is more one that's fundamental to real time soft-body physics engines, at least if you want the tires to act as 3d physical objects like everything else in the sim, which you kinda want.

There's a limit to how stiff a thing (anything) can be compared to it's weight, with lighter things being less stiff. If a set of beams is too stiff for the weight of the nodes they're attached too, you get runaway forces, and instability (TL:DR, Jbeam go boom).
While the tire itself does squish, the whole wheel itself needs to be very stiff or otherwise it starts wobbling around, which is definitely going to cause handling issues.

So if you want to keep the same overall wheel stiffness, while increasing the number of nodes, you end up with a heavier wheel, which can also cause handling issues.

The last solution would be to increase the physics rate, however that brings much increased performance requirements.

My understanding is the current structure (2 rows of 16 or so nodes), along with the 2000hz physics rate, were chosen as a bit of a happy medium. I haven't really noticed the notchiness outside of slow speeds and/or very stiff tires (my forklift is really bad for that)

for a gamepad, the game is awesome, but I also have a "csl dd" steering wheel, it doesn't feel as good on the steering wheel as it could, in the same "asseto corsa" the feeling is incomparable, but I'm not even talking about that, I'm fine I am aware of all aspects, all the cost of these improvements, but I also don’t understand much, like the vast majority of pure players, so this post is addressed to the developers, we want to see a clear answer, a detailed answer, where we are going in terms of tire physics, how the developers see the future improvement, what work is being done, what are the plans, for me this is a very intriguing topic, I would like to get answers in an understandable language, honest, frank, I really want the project to develop in the right direction, but some questions haunt me,
