I'm not sure if it's RWD, it would need so much torque to spin that rear wheel, and also the Covet has no rear driveshaft by default and the engine is in the front. But then idk what the point of the rear wheel is, other than to be a crazy redneck creation. Although even if it's FWD, someone will definitely make a mod to make it RWD, maybe with the Moonhawk big block swap too.
Random tought: when searching about the Gambler 500, many pictures and videos that appear are dirty, normal cars going offroad. I wonder if this is the update that introduces vehicles getting dirty to complement the whole Gambler 500 vibe. It would also sort of explain why the "Bolidede" on the contest announcement is stylized, the minivan only had its jbeam shown, and this teaser has the cars in Gridmap.
monster truck configs please! Since the dev made huge wheels, you (devs) ought to make the compatible frame(s) to accommodate these beasts for the vehicles that have it
no, t think it's so big that it blocks the view of the other side wheel (there's the sun light aswell)
well considering its being used as a teaser i would say at least some of it, or theres a hiding meaning, like deformable dirt,
I wonder if they are trying to hide something the way they positioned the car so that the sunlight is hiding the interior
I would think this is FWD just since it would fit the "simple but crazy" idea of many Gambler builds. That being said, I don't think a RWD config would be impossible using a chain drive. The lack of torque would certainly suck though... Those payloader tires they put in as props would be great on the D-Series/Hopper caged frames, and the big crawler tires on the Piccobuggy are an absolute riot to drive. I've been asking for axle swaps for years now; the Gambler 500 theme would be a good excuse to make some axle swap monster trucks. Those are a common build archetype for the IRL Gambler 500...
Practically the loader tires absolutely suck when put on cars in game, I tested them once. They are way too heavy because irl they are reinforced with metal.
I would think some of the larger American engines would be enough to turn those. The CAT 930's engine makes about 600 ft-lb of torque (I don't remember how big the tires in game are but that's a pretty generic medium sized payloader for reference). I'm not at my desktop to check the torque outputs of in game engines but the IRL Challenger Hellcat makes a hair over 100 ft-lb more than the CAT 930 which is a fair buffer to help out with the gearing concerns. And then there's the diesels in modern pickup trucks, not that we have one currently but for the sake of discussion... So obviously we need those tires on the Bastion now...
No, the axle is on the outside, that would mean there is no space for another wheel unless they are touching, but the width of one wheel would make up for any lost width with two smaller wheels.
the axle's are wider than they look in the picture so they could fit another wheel you cannot see it due the picture being (almost) 2D. besides, what's the point of having one wheel on the back of the vehicle,or maybe it's a single wheel, it's not a double wheel.
It looks to be wide enough to make up for two wheels, and the axle doesn’t seem to curve outward,m meaning there’s most likely only one wheel. @ferrettank which one?
