Civetta Bolide

Tricky question: will beamNG have to rename the Bolide now that Bugatti brings their own Bolide?

 

No. BeamNG had theirs well before Bugatti ever even thought about it. I don’t think Bugatti will cause any problems for BeamNG anyways, they’ve got much bigger fish to fry.

 

What bigger fish is Bugatti frying? Are they facing legal issues?

 

I'm still waiting for Ford to sue the Spanish. You know, they have their own fiestas.

 

I mean I guess anything else than suing a small game company for putting a name on a fictional supercar ten years before Bugatti thought to put it on a real hypercar.

 

Bugatti would have to be in the hands of Ferrari if they wanted to sue Beam. It would be quite ridiculous to sue them because 1) Beam came up with it first, and 2) It's a virtual car.

 

Plus, Bugatti is owned by VW... just like Audi, one of BeamNG's prime customers and partners! And I bet they feel proud seeing the Inline-5 being simulated so well in BeamNG!

And 3) Because we're talking about literary property. Since BeamNG has its own universe of maps, brands and models nobody's ever heard of IRL, the creators of BeamNG have every legal right to secure it.

Don't really think so because, what's bugatti gonna do about a small videogame studio, i swear Bolide isn't even an original word made up by the BeamNG people.



If anything, it has a different meaning from whatever the beam people had with it, it's honestly like saying "Would've Ford had to rename the Fiesta because the name's in use" (albeit very unrelated from the car)

 

I have a feeling the name was chosen as a joke, since exotic Italian cars bursting into flames is not uncommon - especially from Ferrari.


So, not only is it a common term, but also the Bugatti's name is in a different language.

 

Just noticed something: the Bolide doesn't have a "Rolled Down" option for the glass panes of its 2 doors, like the Scintilla has. They're either rolled up or "Empty".

I´m still so in love with the sound of the screaming V6 of @N0mN0m 's mod that I had to create some more configurations:
250 GTR and GTR group 2 racecar

280 GTR and GTR group 4 racecar

 

Has anyone noticed that the car has a gear lever the size of a "Chupa Chups"?) in Vr it is very striking) I often come across the wrong scale of car parts in the game, SCINTILLA for example has just a huge steering wheel, which is not found in modern supercars, when you start using Vr, all these things become clearer
