True, don't want to make another 'stang clone. Maybe just slant the c -pillar for a sportier appeal? Or skip it and do the 79-87 generation. For, no reason at all.
quick little progress update, mirrors, doorhandles added, as well as side glass and doorsils should also mention these mirrors will be for sportier models, will likely later do a set of fairly basic chrome circular mirrors for base models same goes for the blacked out windowsills, though that should just be a matter of changing the skin
Because Barry who worked at Gavril's plant in Melbourne would often pay more attention to the rugby on tv than the doorcards he was fitting to Hawks Also in case anyone is wondering it, fortunately, does NOT spawn upside down @xmalkolmx found something pretty cool, seems there was a concept XT GT coupe produced so I will have to make one now i guess lol
Well then, learn something new... I have seen one IRL, but I always thought it was a custom. But, yeah, kind of have to now, knowing it was a factory option. Also, quick pick. Shaker hood scoops. Yay or nae?
Not a factory option, rather this seems to be a one off prototype (shown at the 1968 Melbourne Motor Show), though Ford never put it into production (as far as I know) Though given that the American Falcons have basically the same body, you can basically just take a shell of the american one, and swap in all of the aussie bits (even do RHD conversion) to create an authentic custom and yeah shaker hood scoop will be an option ofc, just haven't gotten to modeling it yet lol
A one-off prototype is still a factory built one-off But, as you said, this is Beam and the possibilities are endless in terms of lore and how its implemented. Maybe in an alternative universe there was an XT GT Coupe released to the public, we will never know. But we can here. Also, Frack yeah about the shakers! Be a Beam first I think.
yeah that is probably the approach I will take, one where Gavril produced the Hawk as both a sedan and coupe from 67-72 (and all of the other bodies as well) and yeah don't think any official cars have a shaker (supercharger is closest thing) so this should be cool just a matter of sticking the scoop to the engine not the hood (and propper cutout lol)
There was a shaker mod for the Barstow at one point, and it did move and do shaker things. It's old, and probably doesn't work / is no texture and that mess, but it's real and it existed.
yes, just a placeholder as this is based on the miramar jbeam and I have not modeled one yet lol (same applies for the seats, steering wheel ect.. now that the exterior is basically all there I should probably start modeling a dashboard
quick little view from the cockpit working on positioning the dials so they are visible now I will most likely do 2 kinds of cluster, a sporty one with round dials and tachometer and also a basic bar type for low end/base models also tweaked the front styling, namely smoothed out the nose a bit
