I know the devs have had career mode in their mind since the early days of Beam but considering it only started getting worked on like 2 years ago I have a slight hunch that every car thats ever been added to beam was catered specifically for it opposed to the interests of their customers doesn't add up. Doesn't seem to make a lot of business sense when nobody has been buying BeamNG for the career mode up until potentially recently
Actually, yeah. There was speculation about improved depth of field. However, it wasn't easy to truly tell if this is the case.
If someone can check all of the recent teasers, is depth of field shown? or is it only in this teaser? It's too hard to judge on only this image.
Can you be any more specific? I know that there have been long standing 'issues' with locking converters but I feel like most everything else is pretty on point.
I would love some proper trans slippage and a more noticeable impact when mis-shifting, like bucking. Also trans temp simulation would be great!
I don't think we have enough to say that TTSport is anything more than a trim level right now. Maybe they could be a tuning division though. I'd like them to lean into that a bit more if it is the case. German cars are certainly pretty far from my area of expertise. After looking into this a bit more I think my point still mostly stands but I can see where one would say otherwise. The Audi R8 with the 4.2 only made 415hp originally, which is similar to what that engine made in the RS4 at the time. However it didn't take long for Audi to drop the 5.2 in the R8, which was a huge bump in power. Some of Audi's full sized cars in the last 15 years have also made crazy HP (to the point where currently the R8 car is actually their 4th highest hp offering), but I don't think any of the cars competing with the 800-Series got anything more than the 450 hp range while the R8 quickly got to +520hp. Not a great comparison since Audi never has really had a K-Series competitor with their dedicated sports cars jumping from the TT all the way to the R8. Mercedes also have had some crazy stuff, but the pre-hybrid C63s topped out in the low 500hp range. Like the Audi's, that is comparable to some of their mid-range sports cars, but those sports cars often have options above that as well. A top spec SL or AMG GT makes a lot more hp than the contemporary C63s. I'm assuming/hoping this is the situation the post-remaster 800/K-Series will be in. As for BMW: While the Z4 has never even approached the 400hp mark as far as I know and the M3s have exceeded that mark somewhat regularly, their flagships like the M6 and more recently the M8 still make a fair bit more than that. Like Audi this isn't a great comparison since the Z4 just never really got too crazy and most of BMW's flagships have been closer to an ETK X28 than a K-Series.
I honestly don’t think they’re done teasing yet as we haven’t had any repeat content shown (different angles of already shown new content), so we could still see new content before the next update.
Additionally when you start up now how the gas and temp gauges immediately jump to where they are instead of sliding into place edit: not sure if this is what you already meant but yeah
We have trans slippage on old-school torque converter automatics, when a car accelerates on half throttle, then the gearbox changes to 2nd and the revs don't drop at all. That's slippage, right?
