BeamNG's RGB based skin coIour selector I feel is very powerful and has lots of potential, however the current method of selecting car colours is a bit dated and could be a lot better, particularly for cars with 2 or 3 tone paint jobs Currently when spawning a car, choosing a colour only affects Paint1 Ideally, there should be a paintjob preset system so lets say if I choose 'Champagne' for the Covet, Paint2 is automatically set to use 'Dusted Mica' resulting in this factory brown two tone paintjob Similarly, after spawning a car, I feel there should also be an option to choose or change to another factory paintjob, rather than having to manually set each paint layer individually. In addition (if possible) selecting a car colour should also be able to influence the interior colour, as often the interior colour is tied to the exterior colour, rather than being able to be chosen independently (though this of course depends on manufactuer). In other games for example changing a car's colour or skin will generally affect the all of the body colours, interior colour, sometimes even rim colour and so on, so I feel this would be great to have in Beam as well Of course I think we should still retain the ability to manually set each colour individually (especially for creating aftermarket colour schemes), but just have a preset paint scheme system in addition to this.
I imagine they'll add options for the second and third colours to the selector eventually, but having pre-set colour combinations would be cool. Actual manufacturer paint options would be nice as well, with manufacturer specific names - instead of the same names just in different languages. They could have some configurations restricted to only a few factory colours (like how some special trims are only available in one or two colours IRL). And the ability to add extra colour options through mods, without having to overwrite the original options.
Yeah, I guess the idea would be that the colour combinations could have unique names as well (like how say Toyota has the likes of High Tech Two Tone, Noble Toning ect..) And yeah would also be cool to have certain colour combos only available for certain models (e.g premium metallic or two tone combos not being available for the base models)
