So, I got perms from @HighBeam9000 to create a thread to post the plane models. (You need to replace one in order for it to work.) Credits: Textures and models: Myself Getting it in game: @HighBeam9000 Materials: @HighBeam9000 Images: Myself, @HighBeam9000 Traffic Crosswinds Naval service Ryanair --- Post updated --- I forgot to mention you need Conklin airport (airport island) in order to make it work. It also is a STATIC OBJECT and you have to look for it in the asset browser.
Inside each of the ZIPs above, there is a "levels" folder, and inside that folder are folders for each level. The names on the level folders are the "internal names" of the levels (I don't know what else to call them). If you would like the objects in these folders to be available in the World Editor for placement in other levels, then all you have to do is make a copy of the "conklin_airport" folder, and rename the copy with the internal name of whatever level that you want. For example, if you would like the planes to appear in Italy, make a copy of the "conklin_airport" folder and rename the copy "italy". Here's the process, step-by-step: Extract the ZIP file somewhere to give yourself some space to work. In the extracted files and folders, drill down until you're just inside the "levels" folder. Make a copy of the "conklin_airport" folder. Rename the copy with the exact internal name of the level where you want to use the models. ZIP everything back up exactly the way you found it, except with your new level folder in the "levels" folder. Put the ZIP back in your mods folder. Launch BeamNG. Go to the level where you made a folder for it. Open the World Editor. Open the "Asset Browser" window. In the left pane of the Asset Browser, find the "art" folder in the upper part of the pane. From the right pane, drag-n-drop DAE models into the scene and move them where you want. If you want to collide with the model, then you'll need to set some attributes in the "Inspector" window in the World Editor: Set both "collisionType" and "decalType" to "Visible Mesh Final". Close the World Editor.
I'm sorry, Goose, but it's time to buzz the tower! ...and I'm being given more credit than I deserve. For the models, all I did was perform some light conversion and built a materials.json file. It wasn't too much effort. Modding is fun. Everybody should try it.
Would recommend in blender, right clicking in object mode and smooth shade it so you don't get those harsh edges
You can still apply it. you just need to select the model, right-click on it, and click on shade smooth.
I was in Object Mode, selected the model, right-clicked, selected Shade Smooth, but nothing happened. It remained unsmoothed. Maybe there's a "Smoothing Angle" setting or something. I'll check on that.
True. AirTran was the largest user of the 717. However, the 717 essentially *was* a DC-9 in origin, just a stretched/revised/refreshed/re-engined version sold under the Boeing name.
To be fair, the 717 was originally the MD-95, which was meant to be a replacement for the then aging DC-9
