    Hello,

I have an issue with the game, it's crash every time I open a replay directly from the game home page. Below is the screenshot.

I used to open a freeroam first then opening the replay, but sometimes it's still crash. So I did a clean install with the game, deleting all related folder. But it is still crash now, I don't have any mods installed with this new install.

    Specs:
    I7 8700k
    16GB RAM
    RTX 3080

    Thanks

I'm having the exact same issue currently, and I reinstalled the game completely. I also completely wiped the user folder, and started having the same issue again, with and without mods.

I attached the crash report zip and the support information zips (bng7343tmp is the zip I got from launching in safe mode and trying to open the same replay)

I hope this helps the devs

Thanks for the help. I did try upgrading my RAM to 32GB, and the problem still occur. I did clean install the game before trying to record. I even only use 1 car, record then exit the game. Open it again an try to open the replay file, and the just crash with same error code.

This could be caused by video drivers.

    Please try to reinstall them.

Have the same problem, but I recorded 2 new short replays, and loaded them up, it did not crash, then I tried to load the one that crashed, and it loaded fine. Have not tried to load it directly after that.

Load directly after recording is fine. In my case the replay only crashed the game when I try to load it, right after I open the game.

So my only way to load all my replay after opening the game is, open freeroam >> spawn anywhere >> then open the replay file.

It used to be okay whenever I open the replay file, but since a while back it is always crash when I open it right after opening the game.

Same s*. Nothing to do with video drivers. The replay system is just screwed up.

We shipped some fixes to the replay system, could all of you check if it's indeed fixed for you after you update to the latest version of the game? Thanks!

The fact that your GPU resets or your displays "crash" is a clear indicator that there are issues outside the game (even if beamng happened to be the only program that managed to trigger those external issues). If this didn't happen in past GPU driver versions, I advice giving it a try to downgrade back to the stable versions.

i just tried again and its using about 8% cpu 30-40% gpu and 25 gb ram when loading the replay. Im using nvidia studio drivers and i just ran DCS and universe sandbox and war thunder pushed my cpu to 100% and my gpu to 100% for about 20 minutes no issues besides obvious frame dropping from utilizing all rss...anyway opened war thunder replay mechanism and you probably know they have a pretty heavy replay engine as well. everything on everybody elses game worked fine under intense load yet its my machine that is causing your replay engine to not function properly...ok thanks for the help.

and the hilariously depressing thing about it all is ... i bought this game SPECIFICALLY for the replay feature to make content o_O congratulations you guys pulled a good one over on me as i am over my 2 hour limit on steam for the refund...oh well i always remember which devs to be careful of...

I understand you feel frustrated with the situation. I see you probably created your forum account specifically to get this issue fixed. However I am also frustrated because I cannot help with the crashes on your computer, even though I would like to be able to.

If this was merely the game crashing, I would have immediately asked for logs and other information. But since you mentioned that even your GPU gets reset, it means this is beyond our ability to help with.

The intensiveness of hardware resource utilization is not the only reason that can make computers crash. Your GPU being reset could also happen because of bugs in the OS, in the drivers, and in other very special software that Windows grants extended privileged access to.

Bugs in regular software (like games) don't have the ability to crash your computer in the way that you describe.

Personally, I would advice you to temporarily switch to the regular NVidia drivers. Maybe the bug is in the NVidia drivers, and the non-studio drivers happen to be free of it, if you are lucky.

More options: it could also be a bug in Windows OS, so I advice you ensure your windows install is fully up to date.

Another option: it could also be that files in your storage drives have been corrupted. This can happen if the storage drive is suddenly shut down due to an electricity cut, due to disconnecting its cable without having used the "eject" option from Windows, due to a surge in voltage from storm lightning, if the drive physically failing, etc. There's no easy way to check if you have corrupted files, but you can blindly attempt to re-write critical files, for example by uninstalling and then installing those GPU drivers again (even if you choose to install the very same version).

That's all I can think of for now that could help you with those computer issues.

to be clear the "GPU crash" only occurs when i have had to force end task from processes and the very next time i load the game...this gpu crash occurs when i click in between load times. if i click between load times on a restart that wasnt right after a force quit the game regular crashes without resetting my gpu.

more details- i normally have about 20-30 tabs open in chrome or opera gx while doing anything but i have closed everything other than task manager in order to troubleshoot this. why does it take 8.5 hours to hash files?

Wait, what exactly do you call a "GPU crash"? And a "GPU reset"? Can you record a video of it happening just to be sure we are on the same page?
