Moab, Utah This map is a mixture of both real-life places and my imagination. The map is not a 1:1 recreation of the real Moab; but the map has places on it and has captured its whole feeling and atmosphere. The map includes ideas and attractions from: -Eastern Utah -Moab, Utah -San Rafael Swell Region, Utah -Utah Motorsports Campus (Salt Lake City, Utah) The map includes lots of dirt trails, long and good asphalt roads, a small town, racetrack, missions and more! HIGHLIGHTS -Scratch-built custom terrain: The terrain was generated with a special program for that map. I wanted to have a bigger map—a map that is large (at least for me, who makes only small(er) maps). While the map itself is fictional, it combines both own ideas and references to real-life places. I did research for the desert and mountains, the town, and such. The map's name is also based on research. The map is handmade, which means the cliffs and roads were placed by me; while smaller rocks were "brushed," larger ones were not placed by hand. -PBR: The map was built on a PBR base. I learned a lot from my previous mistakes, and this map was built more carefully and planned. I already planned and placed things carefully with the big picture in mind. This picture was and is a large map with lots of fun for off-roaders, kings of the asphalt, and rock crawlers. That was not the case with older maps, such as RCUSA.I love that map, and I loved making it, but in the past, I made mistakes in planning the road layout, vegetation, and such. The map includes features that Utah lacks, such as a town, long, straight asphalt roads, and off-road paths. -Details: While this is the largest map I've ever created, I did pay close attention to detail. Mine, from bushes and debris to ramps and dynamic lights! The goal is to give details everywhere on the map. -Large size: The terrain itself is the same size as Utah’s. However, the playable area is bigger. As I mentioned above, there are good off-road trails and long paved roads! While that size (2.05 km x 2.05 km = 4.19 km^2) is a medium, average one, it is a challenge for me, as I mentioned above. The map is in a very WIP stage. That means, the map is under development and under closed testing. I have no exact release date yet. Feel free to post your ideas/suggestions here! Thank you for reading that all the way through!
Always loved Utah, love seeing some more work is being done to it (even unofficially). Thanks for this The best section in my opinion is the road beside the mountain, doing runs on there feels so good, especially in the Bolide.
Thank you very much! I'm glad you see potential in it! --- Post updated --- Thanks! However, please do note that this is not an updated Utah map; this is a brand new, scratch-built map.
Since this includes the Utah Motorsports Campus, does this also include the short course track or just the street track?
Hi! Yes, the map has a big racetrack—or you can call it a playground. This includes an asphalt part and a lot of dirt trails and jumps. I got inspiration from that rallycross track, yeah. But it won't be a 1:1 recreation of that campus. --- Post updated --- SCS makes some very detailed maps! My goal is to create a large (larger than my previous projects) but detailed map with missions and other interesting features! --- Post updated --- Good idea, however idk where should I put them (in terms of map layout)
I'm working on expanding my map by using the backdrop mesh. If it goes well, the map will be larger, so the playable area too [WIP pictures; if you see an issue, it's probably known]
