The modern ones need to have their bumpers strengthened slightly; they break too easily. If you hit a bump enough to get slight airtime in any other vehicle, it's fine. If the same is done in the modem ETK, the bumpers are ruined.

The devs already teased new parts for the K-Series so i think that's going to be the first one

Its likely the K series and the 800 will be a combo remaster as they are based off the same platform. Like the D-Series/Roamer/H-Series and Wendover/Legran

I was hoping for that, but man I hate the fact that the etk I series is being presumably left in the dust, five minutes of looking and you will see probably the worst existing textures compared to the modern updates.

tldr: bad textures on etk I series

If someone doesn't have time to read that, they don't have time to be on the forums, lol.

I agree though, the I-Series doesn't get nearly enough love. And the sunburst. And the Miramar. And the 200BX. There's a lot more to worry about than the modern ETKs.

There can´t be anymore truth be spoken than this.
The modern ETKs can and should wait but the devs seem to disagree.

I still suspect the modern ETK's got bumped up the priority list to pair with either ABS or the now delayed tire physics. Second to a GT3 Scintilla, a touring car K-Series is probably the best option to pair with those.

My vote for most in need of a remaster remains the Moonhawk, the texture quality of it is disturbing compared to what the team has been putting out lately.

That is certainly true although I for one would prefer a modern etk remaster as I use the k series a lot. Most people will feel differently tho I think. But there is still the possibility that there will just a new version like a gt3 for the k series and another car will receive a full remaster

I extremely disagree. The modern ETKs are almost just as bad than the I series in terms of quality and they don’t have half as much content as the I series. There is one engine for the 2 and it nearly has any customization.

I wonder if we could get a "tuner update" similar to offroad update we got recently, which would take the European and Japanese cars (the ones you've listed, Pessima 1st gen and maybe also Covet), remaster them (well, not Covet) and add some customization stuff, both visual and performance-related.

Yeah I realize this is a giant amount of work and I also realize this is more of a suggestion than speculation but I was thinking of that for a while now. These cars are all popular in tuner culture, they all don't have a lot of those customization features, and they all haven't been updated in a while. Maybe they're holding something to release together?

Been looking around the game files a bit and I found some pretty interesting things:

    upload_2023-1-13_22-11-21.png
    upload_2023-1-13_22-10-59.png
First I found 2 files that reference winches.
The hydraulicWinch.lua file is empty, but the electricWinch.lua has an interesting reference:
    upload_2023-1-13_22-14-41.png
Possibly referring to some sort of ropes system?

    upload_2023-1-13_22-16-25.png
Possibly a wear and damage system for said ropes/winch system. We know general vehicle wear is coming for future updates to the career mode, could have something to do with that.

    upload_2023-1-13_22-29-22.png
    upload_2023-1-13_22-29-37.png
Here I found a few (what I assume are) leftovers from the dev version of the career mode.
Things like the fuel.lua file include price/L, fueling sound effects, etc.
    upload_2023-1-13_22-31-55.png

The inventory.lua file doesn't have very interesting stuff, it's basically telling the game what vehicles you own from a .json file located in the userfolder.

The partInventory.lua file on the other hand includes part installation and part condition.

The partShopping.lua file has references to a shopping cart, buying and selling parts, parts conditions, prices, installing parts, etc.
    upload_2023-1-13_22-38-25.png

The vehicleShopping.lua file does stuff like calculating a vehicle's price, shows you a list of 10 (I assume random) vehicles to buy, allows the player to start/stop shopping, etc.

    upload_2023-1-13_22-46-7.png
    upload_2023-1-13_22-46-22.png

This career.lua file has been seen before now and doesn't have a lot of interesting stuff for speculation in it. I've found a debug/cheats menu in there though.

There you go, just some things I found and thought I'd point out here :)

That wear code seems copy+pasted from some existing code that is in game but doesn't function yet. A lot of mechanical components have unused wear code

Quite frankly, out of all the content available in BeamNG, the 200BX is probably the most disappointing. As a car based off one of the most iconic Japanese sport cars, its part selection is far from satisfying, especially considering the fact that the game allows for NFS Underground level of customization. Sunburst is second on the list.

I've been considering what they might do as far as "themed" updates in the future, and I've come up with a few ideas:

    1. Construction/Agricultural Equiment.
-on a discussion about excavators, Tdev responded with a simple ;)
similarly, he's made multiple allusions to terrain deformation.
-0.26 also added support for hydraulic load on engines, with it being initially added to the T-series dump truck. I speculated pre-0.27 that it would be used in the Wydra's drivetrain, but it turns out to use a bunch of "chains" (simulated as driveshafts & differentials). this feature would be used quite a lot on heavy earthmoving equipment.
-Lucas' post above this pointed out WIP code for both Winches and Ropes, (this may have been delayed content intended for rock-crawling in 0.27).
-The Stambecco also possesses Power-Take-Offs in its chassis design, though they're currently non-functional.
-There were also the two large tire props added to the game, which might have been prototypes for jbeaming larger tires, though we may have already seen the ends of that on the Wydra 4x4.
-Also, the Quarry was added to WCUSA, which may be intended to host more specific-purpose vehicles.
-It would also make sense to move into this market, as it's one of the larger parts of Rigs of Rods, other than boats/planes, that hasn't been succeeded in BeamNG.Drive.

    then, for more speculative ideas:

    2. Drag Racing
-As Dart pointed out, there is a drag racing tree prop currently in the vehicles folder. currently there's only a mesh, textures, and a materials json, but no jbeam is present. Mocking it up in blender with textures, this is what it looks like:
    upload_2023-1-14_16-45-34.png upload_2023-1-14_16-46-55.png
this thing could definitely be used for street racing drags, airfield drags, or perhaps NFS pro-street-esque legal events on non-drag strips.
-Secondly, the moonhawk and burnside have seemingly had their remasters delayed, suggesting they might get much more fleshed-out drag parts. Many of the old (and new) configs also seem incomplete, such as the burnside lacking a wheelie bar decent rear suspension, or a rollcage, many lacking liveries (when you'd expect at least some to have one), and the bastion using out-of-place UTR voltaire wheels on the front.
-The covet/200bx/90s pessima have all been given drag configs, and Drag Radial tires were added in 0.26 along with the "Alder Vulcan" modern drag wheels.
-A large part of drag racing comes down to tire temperature management, so it's possible this stuff is planned for whenever they can get tire thermals implemented.
-similar to the offroad content of 0.27, not many other games do proper in-depth drag racing. there's "NHRA championship", and a myriad of mobile platform games, but they all lack the detail that's potentially possible here.

    3. Rally
-Rally content in the game is already quite fleshed out, There are also plenty of other games out there already doing hardcore sim-rally, but it's still certainly one of this game's natural strengths.
-The devs have recently been adding more extreme rally cars, with the likes of the Vivace, Bolide, Mr. turbo, and the Scintilla,
the miramar and SBR are the only cars that obviously lack a rally config. (I do still love the idea of a SWB I-series coupe, but we'll have to see if they think the same.)
-All they really need is a more fleshed out race set-up: I would think stages in succession, pace notes, potentially damage repair management would all be quite possible to implement with the flowgraph editor.

    4. Emergency Vehicles
The stambecco introduced the first fire truck config to the game, along with yet another ambulance config.
but other than police pursuits, there's not much done with other emergency vehicles currently.
A simple "drive to this location as fast as possible" mission would perhaps not feel in-depth enough, but implementing things like "Extinguish the fire" or "Stabilise the patient's heart rate and load them onto the stretcher" are obviously out of scope.

of course, I don't think anything like these will be found in 0.28 (though the first option is pretty compelling), I would expect super-focused updates to only be an occasional thing.
