DESERT EXPANSE | PUBLIC BETA 3.1 | 0.27 Compatible Finally, after TWO months of work, this beast of a map is finally done (The bulk of it). This is and will be my best map for a long while. This is up with Cyberpunk and Cartoon being one of the "greats" of mine. This map is full of many easter eggs and things to discover! This map has A LOT of things in it for being as big as it is (8x8 km). IT'S OUT TO THE PUBLIC! I'm working on getting it uploaded to the repository, but right now it is free on my Patreon! BETA 3.1 Changelog: Fixed Missing Rock Textures New Road Textures Better Lighting Better Night Mode / Milky Way Galaxy Skybox Less Fog NOTE: BETA 3.1 IS NOT THE PERFORMANCE UPDATE!! This will take longer as I've learned a lot of different things since then. This will take a bit as I have to basically edit every file of the map. The next update will probably be the performance update so be on the lookout! I love what I do, and appreciate all support I get as it allows me to continue to put as much love and care into these maps I create. BETA 3.1 SCREENSHOTS:
I love dev quality work. Looks amazing , good job for sure ! Cant wait. Intersection at the highway already looks like its going to be my favorite spot .
Wow, the map looks very unique, you even added the Aztec Temple! Looks like this map has lots of exploring capabilities
Damn, Spencer. It does seem like a beast of a map indeed! I love how you integrated the worn and cracked look onto the roads, makes it look much more realistic. That water park thing (the picture with all the colourful pipes and stuff) fits in surprisingly well. Just one quick question: does this map have PBR assets?
I mean technically not dedicated ones, but there is a dirt trail around the whole map with lots of offroading capabilities. May work on some rock crawling trails in the future
For the lower end not entirely sure, I get 50 - 60 fps on a gtx 1070 graphics card running at 1440p if that's any measurement. Though, I've done as much optimization as I can with the map.
The smaller slides tend to eat tires. My only suggestion would be a couple of small route 66 touristy stuff peppered around the map. Like large fake dinosaurs, quirky hotels. Abandoned structures. Ghost towns and empty mines. Just a couple of ideas.
Yes, I am aware of the smaller slides doing that, and those are good suggestions. I think the fake dinosaur is a really good idea, along with just overall more abandoned stuff.
