Unfortunately that seems to be the way the forums are heading. I'm seriously considering leaving the forums and abandoning my Automation projects altogether because of the sudden unexpected influx of terrible (not Lucas, DJModem, Crashhard, szanto, Kemro, LJ, cartony or others of course) modders charging exorbitant amounts of money through shady Patreon links, Youtube subscriptions or other means, for sloppy, unpolished garbage mods or even just straight up meshslaps. At this rate, the devs are gonna put an age restriction on the forums and cause even more controversy.
Theres... already an age limit, you can't sign up unless your over 16 As much as there are good sides to paid mods, like helping to support people, the cons are really starting to outweigh the pros of it, and (in my opinion) if these types of meshslap paid patreon mods are going to keep popping up here, we should just get rid of advertising paid mods here in general. Let people make the paid mods, and they can be spread by word of mouth all you want, but advertising links like this to rope people into a scam just is not going to work. There is a reason why there are organizations like Ad Standards that are designed to crack down on these types of things. Yeah, its a shame some of the good guys are going to feel the pain too, but the forums here are not designed to be this libertarian wild west of 'make mod post patreon get profit' its designed to be a place to go to discuss something we all have in common, BeamNG, and getting bombarded by countless paywalls for often times questionable quality content makes the community seem less of a social gathering and more of a cheesy county fair designed to make you spend money.
But then again, letting a gullible 12 year old down the rabbit hole of a private YouTube page where no one is critical of the mod quality is really dangerous, but having them 'advertise' on the forum, people are able to call out any unreasonable offers, as seen with this very thread. Just because kids aren't getting scammed on the forums, doesn't mean they aren't getting scammed, and it also doesn't mean it has no effect on the game community.
I like how after the first 3 posts showing off his mods, he stopped posting because he has nothing he can say to defend himself
Kids will get scammed regardless, that is just how it goes, removing it from the forums here allows a sort of quality assurance to return here, since a removal of paid mods on the forums would remove much of the excuses for linking 3rd party sites onto the forum, allowing those who come to the forum for mods to be safer as all the files would be contained here, yes, shitty mods will persist, but eliminating the paid mods here and ensuring that there are fewer mods linking to 3rd party sites for downloads ensures the community as a whole can be safer from virus files and card scams, since most of, if not all responsible forum members here never download off of 3rd party sites anyways
I'm completely against paid mods, and I'm completely against greedy people turning internet into a source of income, it was meant to be a free place to share stuff you are interested and passionate about and I miss that time it actually felt like tha so much is unreal.

Its not my fault you got yourself banned. i was willing to walk you through with a fix for the minor issue of the motor breaking loose on the hummer but you were acting hysterical and made my admin ban you --- Post updated --- Im shocked by the fact that i dont check this for 2 days and it gets flooded with people saying i dont make the mods, that i rip models. Your all free to join my discord server and watch me live stream next time im modding. If i need to jump on screenshare everytime i mod i will if its needed. The boats not even released yet and you guys are already complaining that its paid. Theres plenty of free mods out there --- Post updated --- Thx man, I think im planning another boat when i get the money for the model since its pricy but i want to make a offshore sport fishing boat. It ties into a truck mod im making and is supposed to match but im not super focused on boat mods, There fun and all but i just wanted a small leisure craft in the game to tow behind my trucks and run around the island maps
And he's finally gone. I forgot to say that he decided to give feedback to a leaker for a leaked mod. When EVERYBODY was pointing out it was leaked. And the leaker even said who's mod it was in the title.
I found a guy on YouTube who did a “montage” of this guys mods The charger at the start looks like it was ported from a unity game
I always assumed this guy's mods were made to look good in screenshots and nothing more; They're even terrible at that! I've seen free WoM meshslaps better than... whatever those are supposed to be
guys its simple just hack his pc take the mod files a remake them post them here for free instead of the outrageous price of 20 dollars a month
I also got banned from his server. he says it's because I was "going off" I sent only one message replying to him saying that the forums hated him because the mods were trash and used stolen. Not because the mods were paid.
