Perhaps you haven't experienced this thing we call "the economy" in the last three years... An easy way to judge the cost of something is to compare it to the median income of the country it's sold in. In the US, the median income was $17.02 per hour in 2020, and the rule of thumb is that the government will take anywhere between a quarter and a third of your income due to taxes, social security, etc. This leaves about $10 per hour. BeamNG costs 3 hours of average (taken by median) labor, and in other countries, it can be much more. You may not realize if you're financially comfortable, but that's a lot, especially in a country where people feel worse about their economic prospects now than they did during most of the Great Recession (of 2009).

Also, my PC runs Beam just fine - America has much cheaper hardware on the used market due to tech coming here first.

This, while I wouldn't like, I could understand. The devs need to cover the cost of licensing fees but want to add real life vehicles, DLC would be the only way to do both.

Well... my country is top 5 on the inflation economy list. More than 50% of annual inflation + my government takes around of a 50% of my income. So I know what i'm talking about. 3 hours of labor is cheap
