On it boss I'll do the mario kart 8 version of Toad's Turnpike for now because ripping models from Mario Kart 64 is an absolute nightmare and would take literal days of work, so I'll do that later lol Believe it or not, I half completed waluigi pinball a while ago, but the model was giving me a bunch of collision errors for some reason. Also, I need to figure out how to do animated GIF-esque textures before I do it. After I finish up this update I'll try to re-rip the course or something and see if I can sort out all my issues.
I love the Mario Kart games! May I suggest Tick Tock Clock (DS) and Ribbon Road (GBA)? Great project!
id like to see music the the maps be a toggle, coerce wise waluigi pinball, ds tick tock clock, wii toads factory, and coconut mall (moving stuff on tick tock clock and toads factory but yeet the cars on coconut mall and use beamngs cars insted)
For toggling the music, you can hit F11 and delete the SFX Emitter, unfortunately I don't know a better way to do it For the courses, I think I'll do those after I finish up this next update. The reason why I haven't done them yet even though they are awesome and have been highly requested is because they are really difficult to port due to the animated objects dilemma (and textures which I don't know how to do still) and wii courses need complete uv map remaking, hence the small amount of them. DS courses also suffer from this, but to a lesser degree (except DS Delfino Pier for some reason, which needed to be done completely from the ground up which took me hours lol)
This isn't dead I swear! I just haven't had much time to sit down and work on it, though hopefully that should be changing pretty soon. I have a question to ask though, would you guys prefer either 1: an update every time I finish a course, which means updates more often but they wont have alot of content OR 2: how I've been doing it, an update every time I finish a few courses, which means they will come less often but will have more content.
Hello joobles, i need your permission for some stuff. Me and someone else are working on an ai project for beamng and we are using a few of your maps as a base. Would we be allowed to make these versions public when they are closer to done? We are quite far with Luigi Circuit already, and we are planning to eventually do a few of the other tracks which are viable for racing. No plans on repo for now, but making it public would be nice. Thanks from dj, and sorry for my bad english!
Sure! If you are just adding ai to the maps, that's something I've been working on too. Anything else you do with them is fine by me as well. If you need any help with anything, let me know!
Thanks! I'll make stuff public whenever we have a bit of a demo. Its not a standard ai btw, we are trying to make overtaking a thing so we can eventually progress to making a proper racing ai. Currently they just drive against themselves, but its fun putting cars against eachother to see which win. Currently no help needed. Also, about boost apparently there is a way to do it with some code, but it would probably just push it into a spin.
Woah, that's really cool, Can't wait to see it in action! Also, If you could elaborate on the boost code or send some documentation my way so I can experiment with it that would be awesome.
(EDIT: Why is it so small? Probably open in another tab.) He hasnt tried it out yet. If you want we could eventually mess around with it --- Post updated --- Im more the person who works on all the stuff in beam. I do understand coding a bit, but im not on the same level as hyperboloid. --- Post updated --- Nevermind. setVelocity is ignored and doesnt work. --- Post updated --- Here it is! Free for testing and such, have fun with it! If you want to use it properly put off competitive scenario conditions and you should be able to change the cars in the races. Its in scenarios. EDIT: Damn the beam servers are slow. Just have the google drive for now, thats a bit faster. EDIT 2: Apparantly the forums dont like google drive. Tommorow it is, i dont currently have the time to upload it.
