I feel like the devs would make an announcement, either here or on social media, if the update got delayed because of technical reasons
The one thing I really want from the devs is a 1.0 roadmap. It doesn't have to have a timeframe, but I would at least like to know what they want to do before the game will be fully released. We've been in alpha limbo for almost 9 years now, with no sign of being close to a full game release.
To be fair, they can't really delay an update while it has no release date. This delay is made up by you guys. You would also not be able to delay a shipment of a good which has no ETA
Agreed. This is the most recent scripture we have (found at an ancient temple): Why Early Access? “We want your support and feedback! We are a small team with big ambitions, and we want to share our work with you so we can continue development with your support and feedback in mind.” Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access? “It is difficult to give an exact number, but probably at least 12 months before we could call the game "beta" (feature-complete). Even then, development will probably go on for years, as the potential of our engine is extremely vast.” How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version? “We hope to make the full version into a fully-fledged open-world vehicle simulator, with a career mode involving various vehicular disciplines and event types, and other gameplay modes.” What is the current state of the Early Access version? “It is currently a sandbox vehicle simulator with a wide variety of vehicles and terrains, with lots of modding potential and some very basic gameplay.” Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access? “The price may go up as development reaches certain milestones.” How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process? “We always take suggestions and feedback from the community and try to satisfy our customers as best as we can.” Seriously, I love this game and admire its dev team and its culture of assimilating brilliant comunity members. Just talk to us, we are your allies, most of the time .
Atleast we can make basic guesses. I'm guessing it would either be at the last weekend of this month or early June. That's based on the time between 0.23 and 0.24 which was around 5 going on 6 months.
Would be cool with some "10th Anniversary" versions of the cars that has been in the game from the start
when is the anniversary? Makes a lot of sense and it's the only reason besides the addition of lots of new stuff, that justifies such long between-updates time.
A new 10th anniversary configs/trim for some cars (pessima, covet, 200bx...) would be a nice addition
"10th Anniversary" editions are a nice idea for driving the point home. The 4 cars that constituted the game back in 2012 (D-Series, Bolide, Grand Marshal, Covet) could each get a variant like this! But this means the Grand Marshal has finally got to receive the 2nd remaster it so badly needs.
Anniversary editions of the original cars is quite a cool idea. Many IRL cars have had anniversary editions before (Volvo 480 Celebration, Mini 25th edition, RR Silver Shadow 75th anniversary, Reliant Robin 65 etc etc) Even if its as much as a red stripe down the side and different wheels. Entirely possible, I can't imagine the devs have forgotten the game's anniversary.
Do you guys think this update will be as big as 0.24 and 0.24.1 since it’s pretty much in the same timeframe? The devs had said they planned on going back to the 3 month cycle but that didn’t happen so I expect another big update.
obvioulsy same or bigger, considering it's 0.25 is probably going to be considerably bigger Might be wrongtho but everything in this thread could be wrong so...
i think it will be big in the sense that things in the backround of the game will be changed alot, not so much as visible content like vehicles or maps but alot of refinement in mechanics, im assuming what takes this update so long is that they are ensuring that every vehicle works properly with a mechanics change to what im guessing relates to aero and deformation, which would require alot of testing, especially if they implement a system in which vehicle damage would affect aerodynamics more than simplely wings falling off, like if an open door caused drag, or putting a aero cone on the front and rear of the car made it for fuel efficient, etc hopefully this also works out with the new vehicle, and what i assume are the various kinks that result from having this new type of vehicle in, in my eyes, this delay is most likely a bottleneck of polishing aero and deformation (since the new supercar is likely capable of high speeds, and therefor needs a much more refined deformation system than most vehicles which are incapable of reaching said speeds)
Getting off topic perhaps, but reason I was thinking of the 10th anniversary model is because I own a Toyota Aristo 10th Anniversary. So seeing a similar trim in the game, would be awesome. They wouldn´t need to go overboard with it, just some small trim details, like this.
