Hi ive been trying to work out to set a new default for my map, for example the maps that come with beamng no matter how much you clear the cache the map never goes back to default of a blank flat land.

Is their a way to set my map at a new default with everything ive done to upgrade it so it will be impossible to wipe like the official beamng maps??

Really need some help here the amount of days and hours gone waste because i needed to clear cache and it defaulted the map im making back to a flat land.

    Help really needed. Thanks

Each "vanilla" map is stored in your steam directory as a zip. When you clear cache, it clears all user data from the userdata folder only. (Launch BeamNG, click more options, click choose userdata location, this should show you where it is currently). Deep cache clearing includes user made configs, control options, etc. but most importantly edits to levels. I dont know if normal cache clearing clears level edits too, it might, but i cant check right now.

If you want to make sure your map doesnt get reset, simply copy the folder from the levels folder. The new editing system makes it a bit difficult to have custom maps be placed in the mods folder. Simply have it in the levels. Place it somewhere safe, like the desktop. Clear your cache, then put it back. Right now thats really the only way.

Or you could zip it up, and place it in mods. (Follow this tutorial: https://wiki.beamng.com/Starting_a_new_map_project) Normal clear cache doesnt remove or disable mods. Then when you are done, unzip it in the levels folder.
