And the YouTube channel itself turns 10 years old on May 27th! Updating to 0.25 at that time frame would make a ton of sense since this is a milestone day. Plus, despite what the impatient amongst us may say, this also means that the Dev Team would have more time in order to perfect the update and iron out any imperfections!
Postponing the update to around the end of May makes sense also from looking at the teasers. Most of them looked pretty far away from a finished feature, and more like concepts. Especially the supercar, which was not anywhere near a 3d model (unless they were showing us old art, and they made more progress before sharing it with us). That might indicate that there's still plenty of time for things to cook before we approach update time. Page 2019! We're getting close to having more pages in this thread than years since... ...well, we can always switch to a Chinese calendar or something, that would give us a few more pages.
i hope they at least acknowledge the anniversary if nothing else, having an update on the day would obviously be ideal but it would be a missed oppurtunity to just completely let it slide
The company's real 10th anniversary is on July 27, 2023. The day that BeamNG GmbH was officially incorporated. The actual 10th anniversary of the game itself is next August. The tenth anniversary of development passed last year. Nothing happened then. I don't really know why they would do something special for that video, but I can see why they would release a celebratory update next August.
I’d believe that. 0.25 is a quarters worth of updates so it’d be a double milestone to update on May 28. I’d expect a massive update, the biggest we’ve seen ever. Maybe having cough cough career mode cough cough.
This also confirms what the Dev Team said about how long it usually takes to make a complete vehicle from scratch: about 3-4 months. The first sketch of the modern Civetta supercar was shown on January 18th 2022, so it seems to be making perfect sense for this car to be ready by May 27th/28th. --- Post updated --- Patience is rewarded with quality, don't worry!
It could be in April. It’s really hard to say something for sure due to the lack of information we have
Of course, the Major Update could drop at any time. That's why I said "it seems to be making perfect sense", because of this lack of info.
I was half quoting your post. Saying it could be April was due to your post. But the last part was just saying that in general.
Please Teaser Tuesday. I’m starting to get concerned if there isn’t a teaser today since we haven’t got a teaser in over a month
1 whole month without a teaser, this thread has gone through every single possible idea and we have nothing more, not teasers, not even an April Fools joke, only some slight Steam DB movement (QA stable no longer being even on the public branch) speculators are going out of a job here guys, come on. More on topic, any date speculation isn't concievable for now, the devs usually fill us with teasers to hype and show how close the update is, the only thing we can agree on is that the devs maybe are improving the testing of the updates, they want to do less and less hotfixes, because the hotfixes cause some issues for the whole team because they diverge the focus.
lack of teasers as a punishment due to people repeatedly giving the devs crap about the bastion design honestly with the lack of teasers i decided id try to dig deeper into the bastion's design elements to try and figure out why the devs made it look the way it does my leading theory as of now, is that they did not design the bastion from scratch now you might be wondering 'that is ridiculous they would never steal assets' and thats not what im saying im saying they designed the bastion off of the bastion now hold up cause this is not a shitpost but a theory that i might have created while doing concept sketches for a modernized moonhawk i believe the developers first designed a 1970s muscle precursor to the bastion, then using that 70s concept sketch, outlined a modernized adaption of it in order to give the feeling that its styling choices where weird to anyone who would not be familiar to the styling of the bastion precursors part of this lies within something i had wondered as a young kid, first seeing the modernized dodge challenger in a movie and thinking 'that car looks kind of weird' and if you had never known it was designed off of the early 70s challenger, you might think the same, it has weird lines, proportions that seem to look like they where placed there against their will. it is odd, clashing with itself in some places due to modern elements fighting stylized design choices made 30 years prior. where does this fit in with the bastion? well, with the moonhawk's body lines on the moonhawk, you can see the two very distinct hunches over the wheel wells, these are best outlined with the pinstripe skin, which follows them to a tee these hunches follow the exact same pattern displayed on the bastion, the front one, first raised prominently, goes on a slow dive down the door, while the rear hunch, starting at the rear, takes a sharp nosedive upon contact with the door with this design element in place, the devs, unknowingly to us, set up the perfect bastion lore, and gave us an amazing teaser within the official game: what the original bastion looked like assuming the bastion has stayed true to its charger influence, we can design and interpolate what the original bastion would have looked like, based off of the tradition of carrying over design details such as body curves even if they may not make full visual sense. While i am not saying 'old bastion for next update comfirned' i am, however, saying that there lies a very real chance this is a vehicle we could see at some point, not even revealed to us, but already given to us through in game lore
The largest European conflict since WWII is being fought two countries over, obviously we're not going to be inundated with teasers and new content
that would be the yugoslavian civil war that your referring to, but the point still gets across... even though they are based in germany, which while two contries over, it is still roughly 1200km apart, which is the distance between greece and italy, and last time i checked i dont think any issues over there caused greece to shut down
