Yep, and if it's gonna be an Ibishu, it may have the same 1.8 SOHC/2.0 DOHC Inline-4s and the 2.7 V6 as the '96 Pessima, plus an Inline-4 Diesel!

Went back a bit in the thread to see if there were any leaks on Nadeox1’s imgur and there are not.
PS, for those wondering, it’s here https://m.imgur.com/a/FUG8o

His Imgur is in his signature, for anyone not wanting to come back to this page. The devs themselves don’t really leak much, as it is company policy not to post wip screenshots/development screenshots.

Maybe the new lightbars points to the new Grand Marshal, coming in summer update as there is lack of early 2000 sedans.
And as you look, the Grand Marshal is the Crown Victoria equivalent. And this is a legendary police car.

Stop. It's not just a Crown Victoria equivalent. It's also a Chevrolet Caprice

Hopper engines are more likely IMO

Hopper engines (plus the Gavril 4.5, 5.5 and 6.9 V8 swaps plus some Ibishu Inline-4/-6 diesel engines for agricultural use) can be reserved for a Pick-Up variant of the Hopper. The engines of the Covet and Pessima models are a bit more refined, so (along with an Inline-4 diesel) they can also be used for a light Ibishu Pick-Up Truck, which spends the largest part of its time on paved roads.

Light trucks generally did not get DOHC i4s, those would be reserved for sportier vehicles. Instead, they got slightly larger displacement OHV 4 bangers. And sometimes SOHC V6s

Very interesting piece of info you wrote here. :)
So the Hopper engines, being OHVs, are just fine for a light truck (mainly the 2.5 Inline-4 because the 4.0 Inline-6 might not be that good for packaging in the light Pick-Up, but we never know). An SOHC V6 is something we've never had in a BeamNG car before (the Ibishu 2.7 and the Bruckell Bastion 3.5 V6s are Twin-DOHCs and the 80s/90s Bruckell V6s are OHVs, I believe) so it would also be interesting to see it as company for the 2.5 Inline-4. Plus an Inline-4 diesel can make the light truck and the Hopper a bit more of workhorses.

It may or may not do so but the needs are still completely different. Even a compact pickup truck will be larger and heavier than a compact car, has a much larger cargo capacity, and may even be used to tow a small trailer. Thus, rather than midrange or high-end power, the engine needs to deliver strong low-end torque along with good durability and low maintenance costs. The Hopper's primitive, low-revving engines are a much better fit than the smaller engines of Ibishu's passenger cars, which love to be wound out.

You're right, the more I think of it the more I realize that the Hopper engines are a perfect fit for the compact Pick-Up truck. They have a simple structure suitable for easy maintenance (Inline OHVs, can't be any simpler than this), they have a relatively flat torque band for getting up and going and they're also quite reliable (well, unless you overrev them all the time because they don't feature a rev limiter as standard - and that's essentially their only omission, along with an Ultra High-Performance Radiator).
And, as I've said a few times before in this topic :)), a large Inline-4 diesel can be good company.

If it isn’t related to a teaser or speculation, then don’t post it. I know a lot of people will rant on this post.

I think if the devs were to add a 90s Ibishu pickup, they'd just take the easier route and base it directly off the hopper, and make some mashup of a jeep gladiator/comanche and the J75 land cruiser. alternatively, a miramar coupe utility would keep out of the time period of the pigeon and D-series.
either way, I don't see either of these coming until these cars get their respective remaster and content pass.

on an unrelated note, i'm still quite baffled by the 1.3 I4 in the pigeon and wigeon. it's currently the only engine in the game to not have a stock vehicle that uses it.
it's on the lower end for size, but it's possible they're going to put it as-is in the covet.
otherwise, it's still interesting that the material for it is ibishu_engine_small rather than the pigeon-engine material used by the stock I3, suggesting that at least the assets are going to be reused.

I'm also fascinated that the bastion engine being in the common folder hasn't sparked any speculation yet. what else could get an engine like that that hasn't already been done by an earlier gavril?
-a simple coupe of the bastion like a challenger, camaro, or mustang seems too simple, and not different enough from the bastion.
-an Unibody SUV, or a modern pickup just feel too close to the D-series and roamer to me.
-a purpose built sports car like a viper or corvette could be a possibility, though that would be starting to clog up the "modern sports car" dempgraphic, with the SBR, K-series, and the new civetta already existing.
-alternatively, Hemi and LS engine conversions are wildly popular, and maybe these engines are going to replace the long-awaited V8 200BX?

2.2 liter engine is available in the wendover parts menu, but it isn't in any configs.
the 90s pickup could happen, but we have no sign of it. i would love to see a reappearance of 600cc engine from the old pigeon, though. (there is a mod for it, but it just isn't the same)
