Even if the author is seen recently doesn't mean the project hasn't been abandoned. Also sometimes people abandon mods and forget to change it to cancelled
I doubt that the mod's cancelled or abandoned, it can take months before a new progress reply is ready for posting. Next time, just skim through some of the previous replies to see if there's actually a sign that the mod may be cancelled or abandoned.
I'm friends with atomspeed123. what i can say is that cherokee has not been cancelled, progress has slowed down a bit because he started working and has little time to move. stay calm!
Yep, it definitely isn't cancelled but because I've started work, there's no time for me to do anything to the XJ during the week. You could say it's a little delayed, but no less of a work in progress as before.
Do you have a general idea of when you're going to release this? I know the post is two years old, but it doesn't hurt to check
I am SO PSYCHED for this mod! I LOVED my '96 XJ! i had a 2 door XJ with a 5 speed manual transmission, straight 6 and 4x4. it was EXTREMELY fun to drive and play around in! Rare As well apparently.
Oh she looks really nice. I love cars with the wood panels (especially if they are beige and have a corvette engine.)
my sincerest apologies for a bump, but i own a relatively beat '90 XJ and i'd be willing to get in contact with you if you need anything specific. id love to see this come to life
Despite the speculation this car is not dead. I did say that I'm progressing very slowly with it because of real life stuff, and that's true, in fact what draws most of my time away from it is gaining my actual driving license. Basically, the front end is appearing and the drivetrain is more than invisible; the idea was to detract hype from this WIP because it'll inevitably disappoint people with how slow it goes. But the fact remains that it is being attended to, just at a snail's pace. Unfortunately there isn't a whole lot I can do about that, especially with a full time job. You could make an XJ faster, spend less time and effort, but you wouldn't have the input of 20+ owners or a scratch made jbeam. Just for the record as well, this won't be a paid mod, in case anyone was wondering. Congratulations. You're welcome to send me a PM so that you can join the group if you want, we have no Briarwood owners currently.
