Did someone noticed the Owl in the front tho? Maybe some wink to the name of the car (? or just to fill the space as part of the design part.
It's the Civetta logo, in case you didn't know! Plus, 'Civetta' is an actual word, it means 'Owl' in Italian!
Oh boy! *grabs drink and bowl of salty snacks* --- It's very interesting that they mentioned that the dev team does in fact take some of their inspiration from the community forums, and even more interesting that certain members of the development team specialize in different real-world automotive disciplines (drifting, European cars, off-road customization, etc.) I wonder if there's anyone on the team who specializes in pre-1970 cars. Speaking thereof, it's interesting to note that community requests do seem to play a pretty big role in vehicle development choices. We've gotten a taste of that in the recent appearance of a modern muscle car, and the recent teasing of a modern supercar. Given all the requests for minivans and pre-1940 cars, I wonder if those will enter development sooner rather than later.
definitely the minivan, as it would 100% appear as a constant traffic vehicle during the campaign, given how common they are today (or at least where 5 years ago) a pre-1940s car, on the other hand, would be much harder since not only do few survive due to WWII demand for steel, but many of them also have very difficult to design models, featuring alot of long, sloping curves, or even earlier lots of boxes on spokes with very thin, individual components, but im sure we will see one eventually as well
long curves are easy to model, especially when they only curve on one or two axes most of the time. the real hard part, as you said, would be finding enough data on how cars from that era deformed.
Throw a tin can at a wall as hard as you can and see how it deforms, it'd probably be somewhat similar
I would think it would be cool if we had a whole new map, that was set in Europe or the United States, that had a big city and other small towns around it, mountains, rivers, similar to the maps of Italy and the West Coast. And also something that could have in BeamNG is new models of buses and trucks. It's just ideas. --- Post updated --- And also the long-awaited "Career Mode".
I wonder if the Hirochi Raceway will ever be merged into East Coast USA, considering they are both in Maine from the license plates.
no more eeuu maps please, the world is very big and there are already too many from there an arctic map or somewhere with snow like north europe whould be fun for a change
I hope not. I like the concept of having racetracks inside of normal maps but I just don't think it works in practice for this game. First of all there is the performance issue. Performance is even more important for racing compared to normal freeroam gameplay, especially if we want to be racing against a decent number of opponents. It's easier to have lighter maps if we don't have all the extra stuff from a freeroam map. The game still needs to run well for people who don't have flagship systems. Then there's lead time. The game really lacks map content, and a few quick race track/rally stage maps would be big for gameplay. I imagine it's a lot faster to make dedicated maps like that opposed to self-contained 16sqkm maps with a little of everything but no focus.
While I generally agree with you on this one, I think WCUSA does this well. It is a well done racetrack in a fun map. I do like the idea of standalone maps for racetracks more, though.
