Alright, after some tinkering, I found that the bolide turbo (the newer one without the popup headlights) is a bit odd. Usually I just need to modify the z axis to rotate it sideways but in this case, the most it can go is just vertical and if i change it past 75, it starts going down. So I wanted to move on to the h-series. So for now, ill skip the bolide turbo. Anyways, ill start on the h-series first, then ill go do the pessima foglights and the bolide foglights. Ill send the files here once im done with the h-series.
Anyways, I got the beams on the H-series to work. One of the 3 atleast. But I realised that if i have been changing the wrong values for the bolide. But that aside, I sucessfully got one pair of beams to work.
After a bit more tinkering, I got all 4 versions of the H-series to work. I also got 1 of the foglamps on the bolide to work. But the bolide turbo is quite weird and I cant get the headlights on it to aim properly. Everything is fine but if I go beyond a certain value, the directon its aiming to just breaks. So Ill continue that some other time. Anyways, next I want to explore a bit and see if I can have the headlight pattern for mods.
Awesome. Maybe just an idea. You think is possible to make second file for headlight you cannot align? Like SBR has. I hope you understand what I mean. -Fabio
Yes, exactly. And you do the fine tuning on the image, if that makes sense. It may be the solution.. - Fabio
I don't know if these issues has been mentioned before. In Bastion fog lamps on Widebody Sport Bumper are not aligned. I don't know which Bolide you are talking about so I only mention that in Bolide Group 5 fog lights are pointing way too high. On H-series light flares won't change position when we turn on high beams. Happens in both old and new high end headlamps. Also it looks like you are pointing both low beams exactly straight. I thing left low beam should be pointed a little bit inward just like PostmortemSlayer did it. You can see below that lights could potentially blind driver coming from other way on H-series where on Barstow it looks alright. Finally - any chance to make older headlights for H-series to have a little more yellowish colour? I know I'm nitpicky but personally I like little details like this. Anyway, great job. Keep it up!
Id imagine this'd be quite difficult but have thought about doing sealed beam light patterns? All of the cars pre '79 should have sealed and not these modern pattern, but its just a thought
Yes, I got the idea, ill do it now. For the H-series, ill figure it out and also ill point the left beams slightly to the right. Also for the yellowish color i can do that, just need to change a bit of the rgb values. Also the bolide foglamps were a bit rushed so I forgot to do that. Another thing is that I havent added headlight flares to the bastion so thats one more thing. Ill also try out fabio's idea, wanted to do that but wasnt so sure if it was going to work. Lastly, for the older cars (before 1979) ill change the beam batterns to the sealed one (the flat one i think). Anyways, thank you so much for the help
also, noticed that the sunburst low beam doesnt look like a projector pattern, thats a car where, low beam is projector, and high beam is regular halogen, (you could make the projector a bit warmer in colour, as i think it would have halogen projectors)
Uh yes with the sunburst, before i did all of this (so like way back then the original file) the beam was like the etk, a flat projector beam. Idk why after tinkering it changed to the regular one. But, from my experience, I had a car with projector low beams and reflector high beams and the beam pattern is like that. Also I have made fixed the beams on the van so now it aims more to the right and its more yellow. Also fixed the bastion widebody sport foglamps. Now im doing the bolide. Also another question, should I continue to update and post the files in this thread or should I make a new one?
I would, I have been thinking if I should or shouldnt make a new thread. I will put a link to this thread as well as credits as I basically dont own the mod, im just adding a few things to it so I dont think it would be fair if I 100% took the mod as mine. --- Post updated --- Alright, I got everything (almost) to work and I made a new thread https://www.beamng.com/threads/realistic-headlight-patterns.84947/#post-1423080 The file is there and you can download it
I would love the halogen lights could have that fade in / fade out when turning on/ off. And excuse me if this is already in the mod because if yes then its not working for me.
Why are the Wentward's light textures like this? When I deactivated the realistic headlight mod, and cloned another bus, the headlights were fine, but when I reactivated the mod and cloned it, it went back to looking bugged.
