Ok everyone, after my 90 fiasco is time to move back to keep improving the mod, so vacation's over and a new comprehensive update is in! Added main missing embossed details in the tailgate (seen with the spare holder removed) Improved lights: USDM taillight indicators now act like brake lights like in real life (still work as indicators of course) Improved look of the rear fog lights textures when turned on Rear fog lights are now separate from the main lights, so they will only turn on and glow when the foglights are on, no matter what Improved texture for the main brake lights in all versions Made the difference between spare wheel holders clearer (one model is intended for covers, the other for wheels, since using them wrong will result in a wheel floating in the air for example) Fixed rim/tire alignment issues in all wheels, especially off-road tires, including spares Improved spare tire and holder jbeaming to avoid weird behaviours Fixed 18" rims being way too narrow, including the tires Fixed hood lining being clear instead of dark Fixed missing polygons on all left rear steps Fixed radiator ventilators spinning out of their own axis Fixed 22" 5098 black rim shining at night Fixed ambient occlusion of the handles still being present in the body after removing them Solved various texturing issues
You may have mistaken it for low tire pressure, but the tires do sink noticeably below ground. This is even after the update from a few minutes ago.
Well...here it is. Actual surprise, with an actual update this time around. The update I hoped I could announce eventually is here...the gauges update First of all, special thanks to Marcel/ @Zuweisung for his fantastic work! He fixed the whole thing himself, in record time too And if that was not enough... @dumpling was kind enough to publicly release his 'secret' work, the Terrain Response modes are here too! Gauges are fixed and fully working*! (thanks to Marcel/ @Zuweisung) Speedo and Tacho needles are present and work reflecting the real values provided by the car at all times Temperature value is now the actual temperature instead of a fixed number S and M gears are now shown correctly on the gear indicator when selected Speedometer readings are now centered at all times no matter the amount of digits present *Temperature and Fuel needles DO NOT WORK, due to technical limitations *Needles also don't look as accurate as real ones also due to technical limitations *Date and Hour values are still fixed in the main texture Added Terrain Response system (Many specifications do not work but were tuned on each type of terrain for the best capability on each) (thanks to @dumpling) Comfort Grass/Gravel/Snow Mud & Ruts Sand Rock Crawl Decreased sound of V8 custom superchargers (thanks to @dumpling) Solved an issue with the right rear foglight texture Just one more note, a 'Part 2' of this update will come soon to deliver, as promised, imperial gauges, but of course also as promised, first step was making it work
Congratulations on getting the digital gauges fully functional! It might've taken over a month for them to be fixed, but as the saying goes, better late than never. The fact that they were even done by none other than Marcel makes this even more impressive. Maybe the stars were fully aligned after all Hopefully, that alone will make up for some of the features that you have scrapped. In particular, I'm not as bummed out about the 2-door 90 model being canceled (after you tried your best on that), but we'll see what's on the horizon for the Defender mod
as usual amazing work and i know there's a part 2 in the works but i noticed the RHD versions dont have a gauge at all
Thank you He was definitely not only the right person, but arrived in the perfect moment, at this point I thought it couldn't be pulled off, now I'm glad to finally erase the 'Known Bug' on the features list So about the future, definitely more rims will come (no work started on more yet) and more options, next up for example will be glossy black wheel arch protections, available in real life. And finally, about the 90...I already made the mistake of announcing things early, and wouldn't want to make the same mistake calling it dead forever, but between the mesh issues, the jbeam issues and more, it was becoming a huge rock in the way, so I would say it's in a limbo right now. I would love to see it happening one day, but being realistic, chances are slim right now... Oops, that was quite the oversight, please re-download in about 5 mins
I'm quite satisfied with what you're doing but will there be a downhill assist control in the future?
at last, the update worth being patient for but then congrats on fixing the gauges, especially from the people who helped you with the mod so far.
Uhhh no, BeamNG has it's limitations and HDC, wade sensor, and many other features are impossible to do (at least from my knowledge)
And so it arrives, the amount of effort and time is just incredible, especially considering that it all began last year in mid-December, the rate this mod is getting updated and the amount of people contributing just blows me away constantly
if you can't it's okay because I'm just asking but if you can it's really amazing --- Post updated --- maybe you can install a separate downhill assist control feature like Advanced Driver Assist from angelo234
