Hello. I was recently looking at the community post of yesterday(?)s hotfix where i came across a comment. The comment was not a bot, however, was talking about how good beamng was. In this comment, beamng was spelled as beam.ng . Youtube sees this as a link and highlights it blue. It redirects to scam sites and tried to download an .apk file onto my phone. Not sure where to post this, but i just want to let everyone know NOT to click on the link!
like a YouTube comment saying "okay.next", There wouldn't be any reason for someone to click on beam.ng . People that know the basics of internet safety won't go clicking every single highlighted link they see. Still, ask the poster to correct the typo or report it if he doesn't correct it. by the way, APKs are only useful for phones.
The issue is that kids know nothing about the Internet so they will definitely assume it's some secret link for BeamNG on mobile and tell it to all their friends before even checking what it is exactly... That download should be taken down.
Yea, I'm not saying it shouldn't be taken down. It's just that dumb people will find one way or another to install "free game no virus" onto their computer.
Ive been to modland and when i got a virus i was not happy but i know to not go into sites that i dont know
These sites are not for beamng only. There are thousands of mispelled microsoft sites that aree scams. And people fall for it! When I typed Mate.uwu it also thought it was an actual link.It doesn't redirect anywhere. (From my Skin Mod, Mate Inc.)
Yes I have seen this in the comments section on my youtube channel, I don't think people do it on purpose most of the time. They type, Beam.NG and Beamng.drive And they always turn into links. So I had to block people from posting links for a long time now. So I don't see many of the comments any more. But the Hold for review section is full of them.
Similarly, there's also these botted spam comments going around with a link like vom dot fyi or ong, they bypass Youtube's spam filter and boy are they unsafe to click. I've never clicked on them because they're obviously scams, however something tells me that a lot of people fall for them, because it's Youtube
Yeah, even YouTube links, there are some that somehow redirect you outside. Also never click on someone's profile when their name is "click on my profile", they probably have illegal or disturbing stuff there, better to report them immidiately.
