I've been perusing the forums and mod pages for a while now, and there are a few cars I want to add to the game. I don't know the first thing about 3D modelling, so I "stole" a model from a world of mods mod, in the hopes that I can improve it. For personal use only, of course.

So I've got this '77 Firebird T/A mod, and I want to improve on it, as in, make it not a complete pile like it is right now.

Like I said, I did not make the model, I don't know who did, this is for personal use only. I want to make it handle more like the real thing, I want the j-beam to work better, I want the parts to break and fall off normally instead of just deforming. Also maybe a couple different engine options wouldn't hurt it either. Also, the last thing that bugs me is that it isn't paintable, I would like it to be paintable with the new PBR style paint options.

    Where do I even start?

I sorta blew it apart, just to see how many different parts there are. It seems, with some proper rigging, it could have a lot of moveable and detachable parts, but for a reason I don't understand, it doesn't.

Would anyone on here be able to guide me a little bit? I would love to use this to sorta, learn the ropes, if you would.

It looks like the model is all good, so the problem is with everything else: materials, textures and Jbeam.

I can’t release it, because of me having robbed the model from World Of Mods. Of course, I’m sure it was stolen when it was created, but I can’t be the judge of that.

Well I think the car uses the Moonhawk as it’s “base”, because that’s how most of the WoM mods work. Just a model slapped over the stock Beam cars. How would I go about making this it’s own, independent setup?

It uses the Moonhawk as it's base, and the suspension and drivetrain components are non-functional. As in the control arms do not move. nor do the rear leaf springs, the engine does not turn and the driveshaft does not rotate. also has no brakes, and no paint options. How could I improve it so it doesn't use the Moonhawk as its framework, and so that all of its components look and function like they should?

It probably uses extremely outdated Moonhawk Jbeam, first step I would do would be replacing it with the most up to date one
