update: the dash area of the interior is basically done* -added cupholders -added ashtray+some other hole -added storage compartment -added steering wheel control sticks -normalmapped dash airbag panel -added dash ac vents -added/textured silvia emblem *except for shiftknob, start key and upper dash vents
You are making incredibly quick work of that interior! bravo! As for the reference images, its a bit of an odd suggestion, but Noriyaro recently picked up an S15 Silvia, and was happy to see his older Beans Ae86 modded into Assetto Corsa, so id reach out to him either by email or messaging / @ing him on twitter. ITs worth a shot! Apologies, may I ask why? I assume its due to the use of the Gran Turismo model?
Shouldn't be too hard considering I made a rough version of one just now --- Post updated --- The beans was recreated in it's semi final state, the S15 will change in a matter of months since its noriyaros new main project so if I were to ask him for references to recreate his car accurately (probably like the ac team did) I'd probably have to wait until the noriyaro S15 becomes semi finished (cause if not I'd just be some random guy asking for s15 reference images, not someone who is planning on accurately recreating his car since its no where near in it's final state). So basically if I do ask noriyaro for reference images it'll probably be later in development when im making configs and when the noriyaro s15 is fully modified (so that maybe i can make a noriyaro s15 config). Noriyaros video does have some okay footage of the car which i can use as reference though.
i know this may not be possible but could you possibly make the frame individually colourable. such as the engine bay
There's only 3 color slots available in beam which is annoying but if I'm not using one for anything then ill set it to the frame
I just figure he might be willing to provide the images of obscure angles more than anything, but I see where you're coming from. Still, worth a shot.
it basically means that the mod isn’t publicly released (no public download link). the only way to download the mod would be to ask the author and see if he lets you download it. (this is my understanding of private mods, correct me if i’m wrong)
You're right and people keep mods private for a lot of reasons. Sometimes it's the fact that they use models and stuff that they did not ask permission for so they cant share it, avoid people reuploading it to russian mod sites or just wanting to know who has the mod.
Okay so I've been working on the Jbeam a little the last few days and I've come to a dilemma, The S15 is very closely related to the S13/180SX which is a car that is already basically in the game. So I've had the idea for quite some time of basing the s15 jbeam completely off of the 200bx jbeam (though it's worth mentioning that AX53 did suggest it aswell). So essentialy I have two options: I either keep working with my existing jbeam and hope it works out, or I make a new jbeam that is fully based off the 200bx. Both options have their advantages and disadvantages: existing custom jbeam: -I'm not losing any progress I've made in the past few months -I learn more about modding -I get to say that I've actually made a jbeam from scratch -No one can in any circumstance call my mod a meshslap -The final product would be less realistic to drive (since it wouldn't be that similar to the 200bx) -The cars jbeam would probably be lower quality since It's mostly made by me -The mod would probably take more time since a lot things would need to be made partially from scratch -The jbeam wouldn't be as well structured a new jbeam based off the 200bx: -more realistic driving model -possibly better crashes -faster progress -higher quality jbeam -could hypothetically be called a mesh slap as it is based off of the 200bx (This would obviously not be a meshslap as i would have the 200bx jbeam be heavily altered to match the s15) -would quickly become slightly outdated as I'm sure the devs are already working on a reworked 200bx jbeam for a remaster -I would learn less about modding a car from scratch -I would lose all the progress I made on the custom jbeam I will probably choose to base the jbeam off the 200bx and lose my jbeam progress but I wanna hear what the community thinks, is it outrageous for me to use a jbeam based on an existing car? Or is the s15 so similar to the 200sx that there's no point in even trying to make a custom jbeam?
I would prefer to see a heavily modified 200bx than a custom one made by you because you say that the car wouldnt handle as realistic as the real car. One more thing. Lets say you choose to modify the 200bx and put it in the s15. If they release the new remastered jbeam for 200bx couldnt you just make that jbeam fitt the s15? I dont know anything about jbeaming but one thing i know about reality is that if you make something once itll be easier the second time since you already know the steps.
Great idea! Who cares about quality anyways? All I care about is that it's done as soon as possible!/s
