Try covering all of your computers intake fans with coasters that have rubber feet on and see how much of a difference it makes :p

well the reason i was asking was because my siblings have to play there games on a laptop (made by HP making it even worse) and it runs games pretty decently for like, 5 seconds, then it starts throttling.

It should help then. Just put a book under each side of the laptop and you should be fine.

Instead of getting a cooling pad, putting bottle caps under each corner of the laptop works well too.

I used to use lego bricks to raise my old laptop.

I actually made a cooling pad myself back when I had an HP laptop.
I put a horizontally-oriented fan on a rectangular metal case, with a little plastic ramp thing to force the air into the computer's intake.
This is how it worked (I'm a ms paint artist)

Yep. I made several things with legos:
    - A phone/tablet stand
    - A laptop stand (before I made the cooling pad I previously posted)
    - A cable organiser thing
    - A phone case (alright, that one was a bit of a failure)
    - Fixed broken headphones

    Legos are awesome.
Oh, a friend who had the NXT set made an RC vacuum cleaner platform. Sorta like a manual roomba.

Well, running gear and an engine is really all you need, isn't it?

    - - - Updated - - -

$75 for my lego stuff. Plus shipping. I have a big box filled with just random lego parts. NXT included.

Yeah, but it's the little things that can really be a pain. Like missing brake lines, bolts missing from random things. Stuff like that.
When you really look at it, it looks like the gauge cluster is mostly there, but laying in the seat, and the engine looks like its all there. Just some hoses taken/disconnected.

Technically you could drive without brakes or some of the hoses.
