Re: General discussion chat School here doesn't start til the 2nd. That means I only have two more weeks to do nothing productive D:
Re: General discussion chat The lady in the maxima is lucky. If that car would've hit just a fraction if a second sooner, she could've gotten pretty badly injured.
Re: General discussion chat And if she hadn't have been going so damn slow she wouldn't have had an accident at all. :|
Re: General discussion chat is this a video you are talking about? Cant find, must see (I went back a few pages in this thread, but no find)
Re: General discussion chat Im no expert on the American highway code but it looks like she was well within the law and did nothing wrong at all. Traffic in the lane of the fast moving vehicle was stationary, therefore the 4x4 should have slowed down significantly. They would have only just thread the needle otherwise, they didnt even slow down or try to avoid collision until the very last second so they must have been distracted or something like that.
Re: General discussion chat No she didn't do anything wrong at all. It was a protected left turn for them. The person that hit her blew through a red light. The driver of the crv is completely at fault, but if she hadn't have been driving so slow she wouldn't have been it. For SHOme:
Re: General discussion chat The person who hit the white car was running a red light, which is illegal. The person hit was doing nothing wrong.
Re: General discussion chat That's exactly what I said. She didn't do anything wrong, legally, and I don't blame her for the accident. I'm just pointing out the fact that if she wasn't going so slow she wouldn't have been in the path of the crv.
Re: General discussion chat Yeah I like thunder and lightning, and I love it when its super fucking loud. Like when it shakes the house its so loud. Doesn't mean I can't be surprised by it lel.
Re: General discussion chat I'm in the same storm lol. It is rough Beep Beep, Tapatalk coming through..
Re: General discussion chat We just got through with the same storm. Have fun with it, it lasted 12 hours here.
Re: General discussion chat Ah, well the one i had was about 40 mins long and i though it was bad. We dont get much in the ways of extreme weather in the uk (other than occasional flooding).
Re: General discussion chat I like storms here in Knoxville, but if I'm at the lake I hate them at the lake. Normally 15-20 mph gusts of wind get going to >50 across the cove. Isn't fun watching everything that isn't a 20 foot boat on a lift get picked up and tossed into the water (wooden chairs, towels, large umbrellas, 14 foot aluminum boat tossed upside down into the water). Watching the boat sway 3 to 4 feet from side to side on the lift from the deck on the house while hearing nothing but wind and falling trees is, in hindsight, interesting, but rather horrifying in person. We spent a few hours fishing everything that was on the dock out of the cove, while the storm was still in the area, because if we waited any longer we shit woulda started sinking. Hell, some of the chairs had partially sunk and didn't even turn up till the next day.
Re: General discussion chat Meanwhile, there's a thunderstorm predicted for today, but nothing yet. Maybe later. Hopefully.
Re: General discussion chat Ocassion flooding, annual flooding more like. Although what gets me is the same people get flooded year on year and each year they bitch at the government for it. The government don't control the weather. What do you expect if you buy a house built on a (now ex) flood plain and then don't bother with any home flood defences either. There are a few homes in my area at flood risk, all have perimeter walls with a metal gate that can be fitted and the few missing a gate I have seen sandbags deployed across the gap. None have suffered major flood damage. As for thunder. Turns out the head chef where I work doesn't like thunderstorms, lol. Last one I had at work was terrifying though, not the storm itself but the chick they had working in the potwash room polishing cutlery screamed each time, thunder somehow I can get used to, someone shrieking in response kills the ears and somehow took me by surprise each time.
