"You have exchanged Insurance Information" LOL this game kills me; what a fun addition to the traffic AI functionality
Great update overall. The H-series remaster was definitely much needed. The biggest annoyance for me is the fact that loading any car, stock or mod, takes nearly 5 times as long as it did in 23.5, same goes for saving configs. What used to be a 2-5 second process can now easily take close to 30 seconds That and the aforementioned camera bug when in the parts selector menu. Not a huge fan of the new interface but its not a deal breaker for me. Other than that all seems pretty good so far.
How does the update perform on mid end pc's? I haven't tried the update yet but before I get about 30-40 fps on average with some occasional lag spikes.
I noticed how 99% of my custom configs don't have thumbnails, not even a "missing preview" sign, just a blank space. Anyone else having this issue? It worked fine in 0.23, and I deleted my vehicles folder from the 0.23 folder because I moved all my custom configs to the 0.24 folder. I also redid the thumbnails for every single one of my configs, but the thumbnails still don't show up. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks! The configs themselves work fine, though. It's just the thumbnails aren't showing up and it's rly weird to me
I had that issue in 0.23 too. Some configs would actually have a picture, the time I saved them as a config. But some of their pics just don't show up. You can take the thumbnails with the thumbnail generator, but you risk 2 things: -The base vehicle's picture changing to a far back-view (but you can change it in the files) -Your camera becoming unsmooth after the game crashing while taking pictures in thumbnail generator. (Not sure if this issue still remains or is fixed)
Yeah I pretty much agree with all of this I feel like wear should be separated to be a skin instead of on the main material (body panel wear since I know chassis can't be skinned) And the dirt spots are just in random places that feel weird to be where they are, it should be more in tight spaces and corners and not in the middle of the bumper panel Some more things I've noticed too: Spoiler: Pessima issues I've found Artifact line from UV seams I'm assuming On the topic of the clock, it's got some jaggedness around the egde: Mirror stalk has a very visible grey splotch down the whole side: Badge wear has the same issues stated earlier, seems random and more like black overspray than dirt and frankly unneeded if I'm honest: Often issues with normals around the edges of things: Door Trim: Rear Pillar: Police livery isn't centred: Looking at the underside of the car, the wear is where it should be in tight corners and around the edges for the most part. (Aside from the exhaust but we'll get to that later) Another thing I noticed is the burger skin seeds feel very copy pasted because they are, you can see very clearly where each copied section fades out and I think that's just odd because that wouldn't happen if someone was painting their derby car irl like that. I would like to also point out how the hubcaps and wheels for the Pessima weren't remastered. It dates the car quality wise. I feel that would've bee a great play by the devs to remaster at least the hubcaps since they're used on other Ibishus too, it would help bring their quality up a bit. Overall, the Pessima just feels like it was released too early and slightly rushed. In my opinion, 0.24 should've been released closer to the holidays and included the Bastion and ETK Centre remaster along with the PBR maps, H-Series remaster and New UI as that would be more than enough for a 5 month wait and then the Pessima should've been left till 0.25 to have more time to polish it and remaster the wheels and hubcaps. Comparing the Pessima to the H-Series, the H-Series feels like a BeamNG-made remaster. It doesn't have overkill wear and tear and the whole car overall feel much more polished. The Pessima just doesn't feel like it came from the devs we know and love sadly. (Except for this large gap between the interior and exterior) Spoiler: Gap Here I'll compare some Pessima quality to H-Series quality: Spoiler: Comparisons H-Series exhaust wear and tear feels more like wear and tear rather than a bunch of rust spots, though I do prefer the metalicness of the Pessima exhaust. The detail/resolution of the H-Series suspension seems much higher, almost like the Pessima was started far before the H but put on hold and finished recently so it's not up to current standards I would also compare it to the Legran and Wendover but I think what I've showed is already enough. Now don't get me wrong, I do love the update and the new Pessima, I'm not trying to shit on the devs or anything like that. I'm just pointing these things out as I had much higher hopes for the Pessima than what I received considering what the devs have been putting out in previous updates which was dissapointing to be completely honest. I'm fully aware that not all of this is easily fixable, I just want to make sure this doesn't happen again for future remasters. One last thing, I noticed the Pessima had Lionsharp Studios on the windows which is an outsourcing game assets company. I'm just a bit confused why Beam is turning to outsourcing when they 1. have their own employees and 2. outsourcing companies likely haven't been around with BeamNG and don't have the experience with the game like the devs have? I assume there's a logical reason for why they chose to and I know for a fact that the person running Lionsharp is a very competent artist, I'm just a bit confused is all. I also wonder if this has something to do with the issues on the Pessima? But I wont jump to any conclusions. I hope this comes across as constructive criticism which I believe it is and not me being rude, thanks for reading
Could you please stop posting 'the game is worse now ugh' posts and say exactly what's broken? How can the devs fix what they don't know is broken
okay... the new ui is slow and hard to use, the pessimas all textures are fcked up.. the rear glass has those strange orange lines.. and the game feels kind of laggy for some reason.. oh and im sorry for saying all of dat, just got angry
It seems that option to set vehicle as default is no longer working. When I try to set any vehicle as default, the game simply brings the D-series instead of saved vehicle when loading the map. Also, when saving the vehicle followed by using "Load Saved" button results in game not doing anything related to it.
agreed you also entirely devalue and bury the posts which are attempting to point out some unacceptable quality control issues. you arent wrong there, but all of that is being outlined in much greater depth by a lot of other people if you dont have anything fresh to talk about and do it competently and in depth, it may just be better to hold your tongue. thats just my thoughts about it, though.
my PC is monolithic, and im experiencing random spikes of lag, specifically on Utah it seems the new UI is odd and different (again, a step 'sideways,' not really forward) and is still just as slow as it was before the Pessima's textures are.. yeah, well i outlined my thoughts on those a page prior the glass is a defroster of which he clearly didnt know, which i dont blame him, because it sure as hell doesnt look like one i really dont disagree with him
